Hero Arts November 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit

Hey card making friends, welcome back.  I’m very excited today to be sharing my first post for the Hero Arts November 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit.  The monthly kit itself is now sold out, they do sell quite quickly because they are such a great value.  The add ons that are included with this month’s release are still available, and I have some inspiration for both to share with you.  My kit didn’t arrive on time for the release, so I’m a couple of days late in sharing this with you, sorry about that.

November is here and the holiday season is upon us.  With this November My Monthly Hero Kit, you will have everything you need to create adorable handmade tags and/or gift toppers for all of your Christmas gift-giving.  The dies in this kit are equally great for cards, scrapbook pages and even felt ornaments.

Hero has included a stamp set with patterns to decorate the tag pieces, and plenty of holiday themed messages too.  To round out the kit, they’ve included card stock and glitter paper for die cutting your characters.  White Puff Embossing Powder is fun for adding some dimensional texture (check out Santa’s hat below), Lacquer Pen adds dimensional shine.  And last but not least, there’s festive red and white twine for embellishing, or attaching your tags to gifts.

santa and an elf christmas tags created with paper crafting supplies from Hero Arts

Here are a couple of tags I created with this fabulous new kit.  The dies cut  and layer beautifully.

For Santa:

Cut his face, beard and mustache from white card stock and his hat from Cherry card stock.

Next, use copic markers to color his face:  E000, E00, E02, E93.

Sponge a bit of Cherry Ink onto the edge of the hat to add some dimension to it and once dry, added a bit of white gel pen.

Use the White Puff Embossing Powder on the brim of his hat and the pom pom for added texture.

Finally, mount him to a Kiwi tag with a white embossed sentiment from the included stamp set and  the red and white twine is added to tie onto the package.

The Elf:

Cut all the pieces of the elf from white card stock and color him with copics.

  • Skin:  – same as above.
  • Hair:  E31, E35, E37
  • Green:  YG03, YG17, YG67
  • Red R35, R46, R59
  • Blue eyes:  B23

Mount him to a Kiwi colored tag.  Glue red beads to the end of his collar for added interest.

New holiday stamps and dies for card making and paper crafting from Hero Arts

I have more inspiration for you today using the new Merry Poinsettia stamp and die bundle.  This is by far my favorite from this release,  with the Hug in a Mug a close second, LOL.  SO guess what my next blog post is going to be made with, LOL.

Instructions to create the Merry Poinsettia Bunch Card:

Use the Misti to stamp the Merry Poinsettia Bunch image in Soft Vanilla Ink onto white cardstock – LEAVE the stamp in the Misti.

Color the image with copic markers:

  • Pinks:  R1, R3, R85
  • Browns: E31, E34, E35

Next, place the image back onto the Misti, using Embossing ink, stamp the image again, cover with gold embossing powder and shake off the excess.

TIP – Heat embossing is little pieces of plastic that are heat set together.  They can have jagged edges, which will tear up your marker tips, so this is a work around.

Die cut the image with the coordinating die.
Cut a card front from Peony Pink cardstock 4-1/4 x 5-1/2

Heat Emboss the sentiment onto a strip of Peony Pink Cardstock.

Lay all three pieces on your work surface and splatter them with white and gold paint.

Attach the card front to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Add the Poinsettia piece with foam squares.

Next, add the sentiment across the bottom.

Finally, embellish with pearls and rhinestones.

Phew, long post, with lots of info.  I’ll have more cards from this release in a few days for you, I’m just working on finishing them up

Hola, Sandi! Girl, that poinsettia card is out-of-this-world gorgeous! Did you know that the poinsettia plants were from the Aztecs? When the Spanish Conquistadores came to Mexico and met the Aztecs, they found the poinsettia plants and chocolate. Yup, the Aztecs are responsible for chocolate. Not the Europeans. 😂😂😂 (My mom and family is from Mexico.) Gorgeous card and tags, Sandi.

Sorry. It’s the teacher in me. 😂😂😂 Plus, I am proud of my culture. One day I will tell you about our trip to Mexico City and the Aztec pyramids. I was about 13 and my dad was a trip on his own. It’s a crazy story. 😂😂😂
