Hey cardmaking friends, welcome back. Today I have 3 New Hero Arts Cards to share with you created with more products from the December Release.
When the My Monthly Hero card kits come out on the first Monday of each month, they are in limited quantities. Along with these releases, they also release new products that are available all year round and today I’m playing with those. They are called “Add On’s and as a subscriber, you have a few days each month where you can Add On these products to your MMH order, with no additional postage required and it all gets mailed at once. I think that’s really cool.
Ok, so on with today’s cards. THERE ARE NO CHRISTMAS CARDS in this post – haha. I am over the top done with Christmas cards I think, although I just may sneak in a few more who knows, haha.
New Hero Arts Cards #1
This first card is made with the New A Warm Welcome Stamp and Die Set.
Start by stamping three different house images onto three different colors of card stock with VersaMark Ink.
Heat emboss in White and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Next, Use two different house stamps and stamp the card front with them in gray.
Add some trees, the ground and snow stamps also in gray (I used soft granite ink).
Use the Misti to stamp the sentiment in black at the bottom of the card.
Finally, add the three colored houses with Foam Squares to pop them up a bit for added dimension.
Card #2
Use the background stamp from the December MMH and white heat emboss the card front.
Smear pink (taffy) and yellow (lemon drop) ink (separately) onto your glass mat, spritz with water and smoosh your card front into the ink to create the pretty watercolor background.
TIP – This works best with Bristol or watercolor paper.
Next, stamp and white heat emboss one of the houses onto Hero Arts Azalea card stock and cut out with the coordinating die.
Also white heat emboss a sentiment onto a scrap of black.
Finally, die cut three trees from Kiwi cardstock using the Neighborhood Houses Fancy Dies set also new this month.
Attach all of these pieces to the card front with foam squares.
New Hero Arts Cards #3
I’m totally in love with the new Tri Fold Edge City dies from this months Hero Arts Release.
Hit your stash bin and cut them in a variety of colors to create your cityscape. I decided on a night view, so I used Amethyst and Paradise Hero Arts cardstock.
Next – this card has 5 layers to the front of it. Starting with the back piece and moving forward:
- Black splattered with Unicorn white ink reinker for stars
- white – sponged with blue and splattered with white. Cut a 2 inch piece from the piece and add it to the bottom of the black card front to create the lake.
- Amethyst die cut glued over the black, use a black marker to cover any white splatter you may see through the windows.
- Paradise – glue over the purple and part of the lake piece. Again, use a black marker to black out the windows.
- Black – bottom silhouette piece. White heat emboss a sentiment onto it before attaching it to the bottom of the card.
This is a super simple card to make and the dies add so much interest it looks like it took hours – change the time of day by sponging the background in yellow and pink to create morning!
Hope you enjoyed todays cards. I tried to use a variety of techniques all of which are interchangeable with the products I used today. I hope you will jump in and give them a try.
