Hi card making friends and welcome back. I have two cards to share with you today created with this month’s Spellbinders Clear Stamp and Die set of the Month Old School Notes. You may notice a theme from my last post – old school typewriters and I’m having a blast with these this month. The stamp set has a super selection of sentiments, some flowers and a cute typewriter to color. You could also just stamp colored card stock and die cut it out for an even quicker card.
Also showcased in today’s post is the Spellbinders Embossing Folder for this month Sketched Floral. Spellbinders has mastered the Embossing Folder. Their new folders measure approximately 5.5 x 8.5″ so you can emboss A2, Slimline, 5 x 7 and Mini Slimline all with one folder – Genius, I tell you. Today’s folder is called Sketched Florals and creates a beautiful floral background for my fun lime green typewriters. (probably my second favorite color – although it fights with Fuchsia). LOL.
For today’s shares I created two cards. A clean and simple one with a white background and a stepped up version with a little more background noise going on.
Creating the White Old School Notes Card:
Emboss a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Hammermill White cardstock with the Sketched Floral embossing folder and attach it to a A2 sized top folding white card base.
Using the Misti stamping tool, stamp the typewriter and flowers onto white cardstock using VersaFine Black Ink. (copic friendly).
Color the images and die cut them out with the coordinating dies that come in the Old School Notes Clear Stamp and Die Monthly Kit.
Next, stamp the sentiment and trim so it slides into the cut in the typewriter where the paper would go.
Die cut a few green leaves and attach with the flowers around the typewriter.
Finally, embellish with Spellbinders Color Essentials Gems in Green.
Creating the Turquoise Old School Notes Card:
Create all the stamped images pieces the same as the above card.
For the background, I gold embossed the Spot on Background and Sentiments glimmer plate across the bottom of the 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 card base. (duplicating the shape of the keys).
Then I placed the card front into the embossing folder and embossed down to the gold foiling.
Next, I added a piece of black and white pattern paper for a bit of a WOW factor.
Finally, use foam squares to attach the typewriter and flowers and embellish with the green gems.
