Hi card making friends, thanks so much for stopping in today. I have a fun new card to share with you today, the Hero Arts Rockin Flamingos. The Global Design Team is hopping over on Instagram – don’t forget to leave a comment over there for a chance to win a $25. gift card. We are hopping to celebrate the new Hero Arts My Monthly Hero and new product release for July. It’s full of fabulous rain forest themed products.
For my card share today I thought I would bring back a blast from the past, a Rocker Card. We made these a long time ago and I have seen them pop up again recently. The flock of flamingos (say that fast three times), in the MMH Kit this month is PERFECT for this card.

A rocker card starts with a 5 inch circle, scored and folded in half to create the card base. Then you build up from there. For today’s card, I stamped the Hero Scape Form Flamingos in three shades of pink to create my focal point.
How to create the Hero Arts Rockin Flamingo Card
Start by stamping the flamingos from the My Monthly Hero Card Kit. Hero Arts Hero Hues Inks: Taffy, Cotton Candy, and Hero Shadow Ink, Ultra Pink, Mid Tone
Next, cut them out with the coordinating die.
Stamp the water with Pool Party and Blue Raspberry and attach it to the top of the base near the fold before adding the flamingos
Then, stamp and cut out some of the grass and attach with foam to add dimension.
Adding the Foliage:
This month’s release has a fabulous new die set, Tropical Florals Fancy Dies, I absolutely love it, all kinds of different leaves and flowers.
First, use the fern die and cut it out 5 times to create the background.
Glue them from the back with white glue
Next, cut out the flowers in Azalea and Yellow/orange (Mine is Persimmon from Spellbinders).
Then, place the card into the Misti to stamp FLAMAZING in Clear embossing ink and white heat emboss.
Finally, place the card back into the Misti and stamp You are in Black.
Final touches:
Stamp the two small dragonflies in Blue Hawaii and die cut with the coordinating dies.
Next, Attach them to skinny pieces of acrylic and attach them to the back of the card.
Finally, cut another 5″ circle from the Paradise card stock, cut it in half and glue it over the piece already there to hide where all the ferns were glued into place.
Decorate with a couple more die cut flowers.
That’s it, now you know how to make a Rocker Card, I hope you will give it a try and share on pinterest so we can all see it too. I have started a ROCKER CARD Pinterest Page if you need more ideas too.
Hop on over to my Instagram Page and do the hop, leaving a comment at each spot along the way for a chance to win a gift card to Hero Arts and some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team.
