Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back. Today’s share is Spellbinders August 2022 Large Die of the month. It has beautiful die cuts to create the fabulous strawberries and leaves. Such a great set for summer and so bright and cheerful too. I created two cards so I could use all the dies in the set and the sentiments with the very cool font are from the August Small Die of the month – Outlined Sentiments.
Spellbinders recently released a bunch of the new 5.5 x 8.5 embossing folders and I have used two of the new ones in todays cards.

The base for both cards are the same. White Hammermill cardstock (because it’s so white). A2 card base is 4-1/4 x 11, scored and folded at 5-1/2. Embossed Card fronts are 4 x 5-1/4 – also Hammermill.
Cardstock used: Spellbinders, Teal Topaz, Black, Pomegranate, Rainforest, Fern and Beeswax.
How to create Spellbinders August 2022 Large Die of the Month Card:
Start by placing the card front into the Knock On Wood embossing powder and run it through the Platinum 6 Die Cut Machine using the Universal Plate System.
NOTE: The NEW Universal Plate System is longer than the original one and makes cutting longer dies like Slimline, and/or these new larger embossing folders quick and easy
*Sandwich for embossing is: From the Bottom, place Platform Base (A), add 3D Embossing Folder with Paper Inside, and top with Adapter Plate (D)
Next, use Scor-tape to attach it to the A2 top folding white card base.
Then, die cut the leaves, strawberries and flowers and glue the layers together with the fine tip on the Bearly Art Glue and attach to the card front.
Tip: Cut a second set of strawberries in black: Layer the black behind, offsetting slightly and trimming off any excess. This give the appearance of the seeds.
NOTE – for the small berry bunds in the top left corner I used the Be Bold Blooms etched Die Set
Finally, cut the sentiment from the red cardstock and the shadow from vellum. Glue together and attach to the bottom right corner.
Creating Card #2
Start by placing the card front into the Leafy 3D embossing folder and running it through the Platinum 6 Die cutting machine – same sandwich as above.
Next, die cut the basket from the Teal topaz and set aside.
Cut all the strawberries from red, and then from black. Layer the black behind, offsetting slightly and trimming off any excess.
Finally, die cut all the flowers and leaves.
Next, glue the layers together and then attach them all using the fine tip on the Bearly art glue.
Then, cut the sentiment from green and white cardstock and attach across the front of the basket.
