Spellbinders Stitch Ornament

Happy October my cardmaking friends and Happy World Card Making Day.  It’s the beginning of the month, and  that means a whole new set of kits from Spellbinders.  Today I’m sharing a new card created with the  Spellbinders Stitch Ornament and Display Die set.  This is the Large Die of the Month Kit.  This month’s kit has extra dies that cut a beautiful box to showcase the detailed stitched ornament.  Also includes are dies to create the poinsettia and leaves, allowing you to create a home décor piece, or a beautiful holiday card.

I combined the Large Die of the Month kit, Small Die of the month kit and the new embossing folder of the month to create my first card today.

How to create the Spellbinders Stitch Ornament card:

Start with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of dark blue cardstock.  Place it inside the Scattered Christmas Embossing Folder and Emboss it.

Next, attach it to a top folding white A2 sized card base.

Then, cut the ornament from Ivory cardstock and stitch with gold DMC Thread.  Once stitched, cut the ornament again in Gold mirror card for the back, and the two overlay pieces for the front.  Glue together and then attach to the card front.

Finally, use the poinsettia dies in the set to create the flowers and leaves that adorn the left side of the ornament.

Add the sentiment using the Outline Christmas Sentiments die from the Oct/22 Small die of the month kit.

To embellish I added a gold rope bow to the top of the ornament and white small pearls to the centers of the poinsettia.

All the kits this month are as usual, outstanding.  I have been having a lot of fun creating with them so watch for more card inspiration coming very soon.
