Hi card making friends and welcome back to my blog.  Today I have 3 Windows With a View Die Cut Cards to share with you.   This is a brand new release from Spellbinders/Tina Smith and the set is so FABULOUS.  It’s also a lot of fun to create with because there are so many options.  I had these three cards whipped up in no time.  I probably could have made 3 – 4 more, but I had to clean my house, haha.

I went with all spring type colors for today’s cards, hopefully willing spring to come a bit early this year, haha.  Winter feels like it’s been LONG already and I want to get outside and play in the gardens.  For now, I have to settle with paper gardens, LOL

I have used all Spellbinders card stock and the colors are all listed under the images in the instructions.  I also used a lot of ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks and I share those colors as well.

Windows With a View Die Cut Cards – Card 1

Start by die cutting all the fish, coral and veg.  I used Purple Mist and Lilac Blossom for the fish and highlighted with a white gel pen.  The coral and veg are cut from watercolor paper colored with Lindy’s magicals.

Next cut the port hole from Paper Rose Copper Shimmer paper.  Behind that another another piece of watercolor paper colored with Lindy’s Magicals, I used Shabby Turbine Teal and Tibetan Poppy Teal for this piece.  Layer that to a white base.

Then, cut the white card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.  Over that, a Waterfall card front 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.

Finally, stamp the sentiment in black, add the port hole art piece, and I just had to cut out that adorable little hibiscus flower and add it too. (also done with scraps of lindy’s magicals papers).

Windows With a View Die Cut Cards – Card 2

Start with the same white card base as above.

Next, cut a piece of Beeswax card stock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and ink blend Wild Honey Distress Oxide Ink around the outside edge before attaching it to the card base.

Then, cut the window twice from white cardstock and glue together.  Use small scraps of rainforest, portabella, Fog, Pink Sand, Rainforest and pink sand to cut out the back yard scene.  Ink blend the pieces with Mowed Lawn, Brushed Corduroy, Hickory Smoke and Picked Raspberry to highlight.  Glue all the pieces together to create the scene, then glue the window to it, trimming off any overhang.

Finally, using a 4 x 5-1/4″ piece of white, ink blend Scattered Straw and Broken China Distress Oxide ink to create the background.  Die cut it with the outline die for the window and glue it to the back of the window piece before attaching it to the card front.

Cut out the window box from white and beeswax, glue the two pieces together and set aside.  Die cut the single lilly stem, ink blend with Mowed Lawn and Picked Raspberry before attaching to the right side of the window, and then glue the window box over the entire thing.  Add the sentiment.

Windows With a View Die Cut Cards – Card 3

This card is a combo of all the instructions above.

Start with a card front of Waterfall cardstock over a top folding A2 sized white card base

Next, cut the window twice and glue them together.  Create the same background as in card #2 and glue it behind the window.

Then, This time, the orchid is going to be on the inside of the window, so cut all the pieces, ink blend them and glue them together. TIP, I used  Copic RV19 to add dark highlights at the bottom of the pink flowers.

The pot was cut from white cardstock, ink blended with Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink, the white was added with a gel pen.

Finally, add some white highlights to the flowers and leaves.
