Die Cut Pugs Birthday Cards

Hey card making friends.  I have something totally fun and a bit different for you today, Die Cut Pugs Birthday Cards.  My friend Bibi Cameron has done it again, releasing Bibi’s Cats and Pugs Collection for Spellbinders.  Today’s cards are just a small sampling of this release, you can view the entire release here at Spellbinders.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure

There are two sizes of dies in this set, HUGE, LOL, and small.  This obviously is the BIG PUG, there is also a BIG CAT, and a BIG Bicycle.  For the smaller dies, there is a fun collection of Cats and Pugs Accessories, like round glasses, bandanas, Christmas trees and birthday candles to decorate the glasses.  Party Puggles (such a cute name), are for the smaller cats and pugs, with hats, flowers, birthday parcels and cupcakes.  There is also a coordinating Cats and Pugs Sentiments stamp set.  I was canning jam all weekend, so I decided to stick with basic, clean and simple birthday cards, but I want to circle back and have a play with the rest of these dies very soon.

How to create the Die Cut Pugs Birthday Cards

Start by die cutting the pug in black and white and gluing all the layers together.

Next, die cut the collar and tag and the 2-layer sentiment.

Then, cut a 7 x 10 piece of Hammermill white cardstock, score at 5″ to create the card base.

Next, cut a piece of Stampendous Hope of Spring pattern paper at 5-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ for the card front.

Finally, attach the pug, and then the sentiment as an overlay across her chest.

How to create the Die Cut Pugs Birthday Cards Card #2

My grandpa had a pug named Suey.  She was a sweet little thing and always snorted all over me, haha…This is her in her colors.

Start by cutting two of the outline images for the Big Pug, attach red line tape across the top of the back layer, Score a line under that to bed it back slightly and attach to the back of the front panel.  This creates the card base.

Next, cut all the pug pieces from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and ink blend the edges with Distress Oxide Ink in Hickory Smoke.

Then, glue all the pieces into place.

Finally, Die cut the collar from waterfall, a red heart tag, and the Bandana from the Paper Rose Rainbow Twirl pattern paper.  Glue them all on and you are done.
