Have you started your Christmas Cards yet? I’m having great fun this past week diving into Christmas with The July clubs and today I’m sharing Spellbinders Snowcapped Holidays Hand Made Christmas Card. I’m still following my color theme for this month with the green/teal/white and adding a highlight color. Today is red again, I really like red with the Waterfall Teal and Mint Green, it’s such a soft warm combination.

I’m really enjoying the nature/natural theme for this months clubs. This is the Large Die of the Month Club – Snowcapped Holidays and the sentiments are created with the Clear Stamp and Die Set – Christmas Magic Sentiments. The Foliage Dies are quite a bit larger than the Small Die of the Month Club and have some different leaves, a great birdhouse and two adorable little birds, even two layer pinecones.
Products Used:
- Snowcapped Holidays Large Die of the Month
- Christmas Magic Sentiments – Clear Stamp and Die of the Month
- Stitched Rectangle Wafer Dies
- Distress Oxide Inks: Evergreen Bough and Broken China
- White Acrylic Paint
- Crystal Stickles
- Velvet Luxury White Cardstock
How to create the Spellbinders Snowcapped Holidays Hand Made Christmas Card.
Start by creating a A2 sized white card base with Hammermill cardstock: 4-1/4″ x 11″ score and fold at 5-1/2
Next, cut another piece of white 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, lay the largest of the Stitched Rectangle Wafer Dies over it and die cut it to create a beautiful stitched edge to the card front. This adds interest without adding bulk.
Then, ink blend Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide Ink over most of the card front, leaving the top right corner almost white.
Finally, mix some white acrylic paint and splatter the card front, let it dry and then attach it to the card base.
Adding the Art Pieces:
Start by die cutting the birdhouse pieces. the main base is in Waterfall. I did the roof in hammermill white and then cut a second layer from White Velvet Luxury card stock, it’s like a soft felt paper that imitates a layer of snow.
Next, die cut the foliage, pinecones, bow and birds. Add some ink blending with the distress oxide inks before gluing them all together and adding them to the card.
PRO-TIP – I cut the beaks and eyes out of a pale yellow cardstock, then used Copic Markers: YR21, YR24, and YR31 to add shadow to them
Then, again, splatter with white paint to make it look like it’s snowing.
PRO-TIP – cover the bird faces. Adding drops of white to their faces makes them look very strange, LOL. (downright freaky actually, I had to replace a bird so I wouldn’t scare you, haha).
Finally, add Crystal Stickles to the white berries
