Hi card making friends.  Today I have a New Falling Hearts Embossing Folder card to share with you and a NEW VIDEO on the Embossing Folder Ink Swiping Technique.  The Falling Hearts Embossing Folder is new this month as part of the main Stamptember release from Simon Says Stamps.  It is a beautiful, deeply etched folder which allowed me to color all the individual hearts and then do the swiping technique to add ink to the background.  Keep reading to get all the details on how to create this card.

This background technique is like my Black Out Technique which I shared with you a year ago, except this time, I’m using different colors of ink for the backgrounds instead of just black.  And I’m working in the indented side.

Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks:  Bubble Gum, Butter, Pearfection, Mocha and Ocean.

VersaFine Clair Nocturne (black Ink).

New Falling Hearts Embossing Folder – Card Tutorial

Start by embossing a white card front 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ with the Falling Hearts Embossing Folder.

Next, use Copic Markers RV06, YG03 and BG23 to color in all the indented hearts.

Then, using a juicy ink pad, pull it across the surface of the embossed piece so the ink pad colors in the background.  I used the Ocean ink pad for this one as it was slightly darker than the colors I used to color the hearts.

Once dry, attach it to a top folding A2 sized White card base:  4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.

Then, use the two largest dies from the Tim Holtz Stacked Deckle Dies, to cut a frame to outline the card.  Attach it to the card front using foam strips.

Finally, use the Iceland Poppies dies and cut out two poppies.  Using small blending brushes to add ink to the pieces before gluing them together.

Dry fit all the pieces to ensure you like the placement and then glue them all down.

Finish by stamping a sentiment in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, using the Spring in my Step sentiment stamp and die set.

Embellish with Clear Pawsitively dazzling Gems
