Heartfelt Snowflakes and Distress Oxide Sprays

Hey card making friends, welcome back.  Today I’m sharing Heartfelt Snowflakes and Distress Oxide Sprays.  When combined, make FABULOUS Christmas cards, and it’s SO EASY.  It’s an emboss resist technique:  White heat emboss the snowflakes all over a watercolor paper card front.  Then Spritz the heck out of it with Distress Oxide Sprays and Distress Spritz to add a beautiful glimmer to the finish.

Hop and Giveaway:
So, there is a Simon Says Stamp Instagram Hop going on today to celebrate the recent Sweet Wishes release.  You can pop over to my IG page, and start the hop there.  Don’t forget to leave comments at each stop for a chance to win a $25. gift card being given away at each stop.

For today’s card I’m using the NEW Heartfelt Snowflakes Stamp Set.  It’s a lovely and very large 6 x 8 set, with ton’s of different sizes, making it super easy to fill up a card front.  The sentiments are all created with the Holiday Words Stamp and Die set from last month, gold embossed and die cut out.

Products used for today’s cards:

How to create the Heartfelt Snowflakes & Distress Oxide Sprays Cards

Start by using  a Misti and arrange as many snowflakes as you can fit on a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of watercolor paper.

Next, ink the stamps with VersaMark ink, and white heat emboss the snowflakes.

Then, on a protected surface, lean the card fronts up on an angle and spritz them with the Distress Oxide Sprays and let the spray run.  Once the piece is covered in color, lay it flat, and spray it with the Distress Spritz to get the beautiful glittery finish.

Next Steps:

Start by placing the card front into a splat box and splattering with white paint.

Next, once dry, attach to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Adding the Sentiment to the Heartfelt Snowflakes and Distress Oxide Spray Cards.

Start by stamping the sentiments in VersaMark Ink onto Hammermill white cardstock.

Next, cover with detailed gold embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.

Finally, die cut the sentiments with the coordinating dies and attach to the cards with foam squares.

Embellish with the Clear Pawsitively Dazzling Gems – and check out the NEW COLORS this month.
