Hi Crafty Friends!

I’m so excited to be joining Simon Says Stamp today for their “Always There” Day 2 Blog Hop.  These hops are always packed with amazing inspiration, and for my project today, I created a Peek-a-Boo See-Through Floral Birthday Card.

I used the beautiful Willowweave Plate– easily one of my favorite products from this release —  along with my A2 Rectangles dies to create the Peek-a-Boo See-Through front panel on the card, I hope you like it.

My Color Combo for today’s card feels fresh and spring-inspired with soft peaches and oranges, touches of spring green and crisp white details throughout.  Although honestly, I think this design would also look beautiful with a Kraft cardstock background for a warmer feel.

Products used for today’s Peek-a-Boo See-Through Floral Birthday Card:

 

Peek-a-boo see-through floral birthday card featuring the Simon Says Stamp Willowweave Plate with layered Luna Flower and Sunblush Flowers dies in peach, coral, and green over a soft pink background with a bold happy birthday sentiment.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1.  Die cut the Willowweave Plate twice from white cardstock, along with two A2 outline frames.  layer each set together for added dimension, then adhere the Willowweave Plate panel over the frame to create the Peek-a-Boo front panel.
  2. Cut a strip of white cardstock, 1/2″ x 4-1/4″, and score it at 1/4″.   With the score at the top, adhere the strip to the top back of the Peek-a-Boo panel.  Fold open the scored tab and attach a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ panel of white cardstock to the inside using a thin line of liquid glue.  This creates the top folding A2-sized card.
  3. Open the card and ink blend the lower portion of the inside panel with Cheeky Ink to create the soft pink background showing through the die cut openings.
  4. Die cut all the floral pieces from white cardstock and place them onto a Sticky Mat.  Ink blend them with your favorite peach, coral, yellow and green ink combinations before assembling the flowers.
  5. Adhere the florals to the front of the card using liquid glue – PRO-TIP – open the card while adhering the flowers so you don’t accidentally glue the card shut.
  6. Use the Good Greetings 1 stamp set to stamp the birthday sentiment and die-cut it with the coordinating die.  Adhere it to the lower center of the card front.

Ink used:

  • Pinks:  Blush, Cheeky, Pucker
  • Orange:  Melon, Cantaloupe, Sherbet
  • Yellow:  Lemonade, Zest
  • Greens:  Celery, Sprout, Pearfection
