Hi crafty friends!  Welcome back to Christmas Card Magic 2026!  In video #3, we’re creating Almost Flat Christmas Shaker Cards filled with sparkle, texture, and snowy details.  I’ll show you how to create colorful backgrounds with Distress Oxide Sprays, add dimension with an embossing folder, and highlight that texture with white heat embossing.  Then we’ll turn those backgrounds into fun shaker cards – six different color combinations to inspire your Christmas crafting.

Steps to creating the Almost Flat Christmas Shaker Cards:

In today’s cardmaking video, I walk you through each of the simple steps to create these shaker cards, and we make one together.  At the end of the video I share all 6 and give you the color combos for each, and I’ll also briefly share them below.

  1. Spray a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ panel of watercolor paper with Distress Oxide Spray.
  2. When dry, emboss with the Flourish Flurry Embossing Folder.
  3. Lightly drag the VersaMark ink pad over the panel, cover with white embossing powder, shake off the excess, and heat set.
  4. Use clear packaging to create the shaker envelope, add shaker guts, and seal.
  5. Attach to a top-folding, A2-sized white card base.
  6. Embellish with a die-cut snowflake and/or sentiment.
