Arching Leaf Christmas Cards

Hi, card-making friends and welcome back.  I’m playing with another new Stamp and Die combo from Simon Says Stamp Stamptember release today.  My Arching Leaf Christmas Cards are created with the Big Holiday Words and Dies set released this month, and that beautiful foliage spray is Arching Leaf Border Dies from last month’s release.  I think they look fabulous together when creating Christmas cards, don’t you?

This card is super easy to create and would make a great mass-produced Christmas Card.  I would create a pile of the Magicals powders background and let them dry, then cut out all the sprigs at once, emboss and die cut all the sentiments at once, do all the splatter at the same time, and in no time, you will have a stack of finished cards.  They are also single layers except for the die-cut sprig, so no extra postage is required.

The Big Holiday Words & Die Set is a large 6 x 8″ set with 22 coordinating dies providing a huge selection of holiday sentiments to choose from.  The font is also loopy and fun with lots of small sentiments to add above or below.

How to Create the Arching Leaf Christmas Cards

Start with a white A2-sized card base, 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.  Ink blend the bottom, up the left side, and around the top with the Surf Ink.

Next, using Lindy’s Magicals, and a large piece of watercolor paper, color the paper with the powders and set aside to dry.  Then die cut the Arching leaf Border Dies from it and glue them around the left side of the card.

Then, mix the magicals powders and splatter the card with them, repeat with the gold.

Finally, black heat emboss the sentiments onto gold cardstock and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Use Small pieces of foam tape to attach them to the right side of the card.  Embellish with some gold gems.

Arching Leaf Christmas Cards – Green Card.

The steps are identical to the blue card above, just in green.

Start by using the Cabbage Ink and ink blending the left side, and top and bottom of the white card base.

Use the Lucky Shamrock Green Lindy’s Magicals to create the watercolor paper and when dry, die cut out and attach to the left of the card.

Then, splatter with the green and gold paint and attach the sentiments.

Finally, embellish with gold gems.
