Hi card making friends. I’m back today with a BetterPress Windy Fall Leaves Card to share with you. This Windy Fall Leaves BetterPress Set is the September Club, and it’s a doozy. Every leaf you could think of and so many different ways you could use them, as they are not attached, but rather, have a Registration Sheet to use for placement, or go wild and come up with your own design.
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.
Usually, I would ink this up and BetterPress the heck out of it, but it was so pretty all together on the registration sheet, that I decided to ink it with VersaMark Ink and Heat Emboss it instead.
I did my Painting with Embossing Powder technique: Ink up all the images with VersaMark Ink. Using a straw cut on an angle, scoop up different colors of embossing powder and drop it onto the leaves. As you can see in the above closeup, I dropped Brass Embossing Powder first near the bottom and center of the leaves, then went over that with gold. Shake the card a bit to move the gold around, then shake off the excess and heat set it.
I link to a technique video I did a few years ago at the bottom of this post.
How to create the BetterPress Windy Fall Leaves Card
Start with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Waterfall Cardstock. Tape the Registration Plate down on the magnetic surface of your BetterPress.
Next, add all the leaf plates. Ink them with the VersaMark Ink pad, and run through the Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine.
Using the straw spoons, sprinkle brass embossing powder at the base and up the middle of each leaf. Then switch straws and finish covering each leaf with gold embossing powder. Gently tap the side of the cardstock to move the embossing powder around so you have even coverage, and then shake the excess off into a garbage can.
Then, heat emboss to melt the powder to the card stock. Splatter the card front with gold and white paint before attaching to the card base.
Finally, repeat the process with the sentiment, this time just using the gold embossing powder.
Attach the card front to a top folding A2 sized white card base, 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″.
The Windy Fall Leaves BetterPress Club Kit is available to order until Sept 27/24.
It is also party of the Deluxe Caboodle Club where you receive a 60% Discount on all the clubs, and 1 shipping fee.
Here is my older Painting With Embossing Powder Card Making Technique Video. It uses different stamps, but you will see how to add the embossing powder, to “paint” your scene with different colors.
