In honor of the 25% OFF Embossing Folder SALE at Simon Says Stamp, I’m sharing an embossing folder card idea using one of my favorites–the Blooming Wreath Embossing Folder. This is my second time using it, and I can already tell it’s going to be a staple in my craft room. The design is so beautiful and timeless, it’s one of those must-have embossing folders you’ll reach for again and again.
For this card, I paired the embossed background with the Dragonfly Duo and continued my current love of purple card designs and arched layouts. This time, instead of shaping the card base, I created a soft white embossed background behind the arch for an elegant layered look.

Simon Says Stamp has 25% OFF on all Branded Embossing Folders
Good through April 5th
Let’s jump in and I’ll show you exactly how I created this embossing folder card step-by-step.

Products used for today’s Blooming Wreath Embossing Folder Card | Dragonfly Duo | Simon Says Stamp Card:
- Gerbera Daisy Background stamp
- Flourish Dragonfly Duo Die Set
- Impressionistic Flower Die set (sentiment)
- A2 Arches layering die set
- Blooming Wreath Embossing Folder
- Windswept leaves Dies
- Clear Pawsitively Dazzling Gems
I think I should have titled this post “How many products can you use on one card!”, LOL

How to create the Blooming Wreath Embossing Folder Card:
1 – Create the Card Base:
Start with a white top-folding A2-sized white card base (4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″).
Cut Lavender cardstock panel to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and white heat emboss the Gerbera Daisy Background Stamp to add subtle texture and detail. Then, attach it to the card base.
2 – Create the Arched Embossed Panel:
Using the A2 Arches Nested Dies, cut two panels–one from white cardstock and one slightly larger from Lavender Cardstock.
Emboss the white panel with the Blooming Wreath Embossing Folder to create a detailed floral background. Layer it onto the Lavender panel, then attach it to the card front with foam tape for added dimension and depth.
3 – Die Cut and Ink Blend the Dragonfly Duo.
Die cut two dragonflies using the Flourish Dragonfly Duo die set. Ink blend the wings with Orchid and Lilac inks to create a soft purple gradient, leaving the bodies white for contrast.
Next, die cut two leaves from the light green cardstock using the Windswept Leaves Die Set. Adhere the leaves to the top and bottom of the arch, then attach the dragonflies using foam squares to enhance dimension and movement.
4 – Add the sentiment:
Die cut the sentiment from the Impressionistic Flower Die set, cutting the shadow layer from vellum, and the word layer from Lavender cardstock.
5 – Embellish the card:
Finish your embossing folder card by adding Clear Pawsitively Dazzling Gems around the design for a touch of sparkle and visual balance.
PRO-TIP
combining white heat embossing with an embossing folder background creates layered texture without adding bulk — perfect for elegant, dimensional card designs.

haha, I’m trying, LOL, thanks Sharon
Stunning card, Sandi. I am going to try the white heat embossing on lavender cardstock. Love this monochromatic color scheme with just a touch of light green. Rivals our favorite: teal!!
Thank you Gayle, and yes it does, it’s becoming my close second choice, haha
so pretty Sandi, love your color choices on this one.
Thank you Lisa, I’m on a purple roll this year, haha
I like how you “grounded” the dragonfly at the top with leaves 🍃! I too, like the colour purple, and your card is amazing!
aw, thank you Debbie, yes, I didn’t want him up there all by himself, and the top of the card needed the added color
Absolutely gorgeous!
