Hello my card making friends. Today is the start of a new video series. Card Making Backgrounds 1 is the first in the series and in this video I create fabulous backgrounds with Lindy’s Magicals. Once I create the backgrounds, I create a couple of pretty cards to share how I like to use these powders.
Lindy’s Magicals are powdered die based pigments. You activate them with water and they stain rather than float within mediums. The colors are vivid and beautiful and the ones I use today also have mica in them for beautiful glimmer and shine. what I like best about these powders is you need absolutely NO ARTISTIC TALENT to play with them. Anyone can make fabulous backgrounds with them. They also have sprays. I don’t have them yet, but I’ll do a background video with them when I get some.
Lindy’s GANG is based in Seattle Washington, VISIT their website and check out these fabulous products. Use my special code:

The second product I share right at the beginning of today’s video is my new WHITE GLASS MAT
It’s very evident in the video why I LOVE this glass mat. When you get creative with inks, sprays powders etc. you make a mess. Now I can actually SEE where the ink is and I don’t drag my card through it. Plus it’s super easy clean up.
This glass mat are from Glassboard Studio. The mats are made from 1/4″ thick tempered glass with a grid and you can order a metal backing to make them magnetic too (I did, and I love that the magnets hold my projects in place for me). They carry a life time warranty and they don’t stain. They come in a variety of colors, sizes, and designs too.

I have the 18 x 24″ white magnetic board that you see in this video and you can see it on the GLASSBOARD STUDIOS site

Powders used in today’s Video:
Lindy’s Magicals – Industrial Chic
Lindy’s Magicals – Autumn Leaves
Lindy’s Magicals – Victorian Bouquet
Use VisibleImage.com Butterfly Effect Stamp Set to create this card.
I’m not going to go into detail on the card making as I walk you through creating the backgrounds in the video, and stamping the images. The downloadable tutorial at the end of this post has all the cutting measurements etc. for completing this card.
In the video I also show you how you can paint with these powders to add interest to your background images.
And of course, clean up is super easy with the glass mat.
Card Making Backgrounds 1 – Card #2
Use the Visibleimage.com Dragonfly Reflection stamp set for this card
Everything on this card is the same as the first card except I changed out the stamp set.
Cut the dragonfly from the copper colored background I created in the video
NOTE: Stamp the Dragonfly on the card front as there are design elements in the stamp that get cut off when you fussy cut out the dragonfly.
Finally, for this card, I stamped the images in VersaMark Ink and black heat embossed the images.

Bonjour Sandi
Que c’est beau. This creation is a pre-spring, so we can be patients. The mixture of colors and the artistic design is very inviting to fly away.
Merci
Yolande

HI, Sandy –
Love these and just ordered a pack of Shimmer Sprays from Lindy’s. They look terrific. I was very annoyed at myself for missing THoltz’s Halloween Distress Sprays. These are different, I realize, but the Halloween set looked fantastic, so I chose that one. Thanks for the discount!
