I’m so excited to be joining Spellbinders in celebrating their 23rd birthday with this fabulous blog hop. I’ve been a cardmaker for well over 30 years, and I still remember purchasing my very first nested square-and-circle dies from Spellbinders all those years ago. Who would have thought that decades later I’d be working with them — and even designing dies for them? It’s been an incredible journey, and I truly love what I do. Happy birthday, Spellbinders, and here’s to many more years of creativity and inspiration!
For today’s hop, we were asked to create a birthday card, and I couldn’t resist bringing Chompster out for another party. He was my favorite character from the Just Add Cake Birthday Cardmaking Kit released back in March (and it’s still available here). I paired him with a few additional dies from the kit to create this fun, festive birthday card.

Giveaway:
To celebrate this milestone, Spellbinders are giving away a $25. gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments left on our blog. Giveaway closes on Sunday June 28th, 11:59 p.m. MST. The winners will be announced in this blog hop post the following Wednesday. The winners are responsible for shipping costs, duties, and taxes.
Let’s jump in, and I’ll show you how I created this fun arched shaped card. Then, be sure to continue on with the blog hop for even more birthday inspiration from the talented Spellbinders design team.

Products Used for the Chompster Birthday Card:

How to Create the Chompster Birthday Card:
Create the Card Base:
Use the Color Block Accent Arches to create the black-and-white arched frame and the Essential Arches dies to create the back panel of the card. Score the back panel 1/2″ from the left side and apply Red Line Tape to the scored tab. Attach the two panels together to form the card base.
Next, step down two sizes in the Essential Arches set and die cut an arch from Peridot cardstock. Attach it to the center of the card base using foam tape for added dimension.

Create Chompster and Embellishments:
Die cut Chompster, his cupcake and his hat. Use the beer die from the Birthday Brew die set to cut small green dots and add them to Chompster’s body for extra detail.
Next, use the Garden Party die set to die cut several flowers. Finish by stamping and white heat embossing a sentiment from the Just Add Cake Stamp and Die Set.

Assemble the Card:
Attach the sentiment to the bottom center of the card. Position Chompster above the sentiment and secure him with foam squares.
Finish by adding a few flowers along the right side of the card to create a colorful focal point and balance the design.
Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you enjoyed my little Chompster Birthday card. Now it’s time to hop. I have attached the entire list for you so you don’t get lost along the way.
I did an unboxing video for the Just Add Cake Birthday Cardmaking Kit back in March, with 5 more card designs and you can view it here.
