haha, it’s true, today I’m channeling my inner Van gogh with another card in my Easy Watercolor Techniques Card #2 – Hero Arts Color Layering Iris.
I recently had a Sunday afternoon to sit and watercolor with my Gansai Tambi paints, and as you know, I like bright colours, so I decided to take some creative license with this Hero Arts – Color Layering Iris and Die set.
I created a quick video #2 in my EASY Watercolor Techniques Series (video below) showing you how I achieved the multi colors within each petal. It’s super easy with SUPERB results.
You can also view Video #1 here
I also wanted a nice framed background and that was easily accomplished with the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangle wafer Dies.
Today’s video takes you step by step through the creation of this card. If you are reading this in an e-mail, you may need to CLICK HERE to watch the video, or you can watch it in HD over on my YOUTUBE Channel.
I created a PDF File for you with the cutting instructions, supply list and step by step instructions, just click on the button below to download it and print/save it in your computer.
I had a few Iris left over, so I created a stepped up version of the card and changed out the base to a Hero Arts Amethyst card base to match the flowers. I would absolutely Love to get this bright cheery card in the mail, wouldn’t you? Leave me a comment under the iris picture on my Business Facebook page and I’ll pick a winner on Thursday to mail this card to.

Sandi
Your card is so vibrant and is a WOW !! card for sure. Can’t wait to be in my garden planting flowers.
I have a question about the ranger distress inks…are they similar to stamping up! ink pads?
I have been enjoying your new creative art. I especially like the altnew stamps you have used.
I think I’d like to try out some of their stamps and products.
Hi Judy, and thanks on the cards. The Distress inks are nothing like Stampin Up inks.
