Happiest Wishes Cards

Hey cardies, I’m back with three new Happiest Wishes Cards to share with you.  These are from the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit of the month – named Happiest Wishes (how odd right, haha).

It’s a fabulous kit with lots of new goodies to try out (see details at the end of this post).  I’m hot into Slimline and Mini Slimline cards again after a little break, and for some reason, I’m stuck on rainbows lately.  The bright cheery colors just make me happy.

Aren’t they fun?  I love the critters in the New 6 x 8 Happiest Wishes Stamp Set, so I had to do one card for each of them.  From the right we have the Over the Top Card. The kitty in the middle is the medium card and the bear on the right is the simple card.  All of them were easy to make, some just took longer than others.

Creating Happiest Wishes Cards #1

Use blending brushes and Pawsitivily Saturated Inks in:  Cherry, Mandarin, Lemonade, Limelicious, Surf and Pinkfresh Lavender (I don’t have a purple in the Pawsitivily set yet).  Blend the ink from the top down using the Simon Says Stamp Build a Frog pond Stencil, which has a great cloud on the outside edge of it.  This is done on a piece of Hammermill cut at 3 x 8 inches.

Next, use Intense black ink to stamp the doggy 2 clouds, and 3 balloons onto white hammermill card.

Color with copic markers:  Yellow:  Y13, 15, 19  Teal:  BG11,13,49  Pink:  RV17,19,55 Brown:  E31, 35, 57

Finally, cut them out and set them aside.

Putting the card together:

Place the rainbow card front into the Misti and stamp the bottom sentiment before matting and attaching to a 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ white card base.

To embellish – use the small star stamps in the set and the colored inks to stamp the stars randomly.

Then, add a few sequins from the Rainbow Party sequin pack and add highlights with a #10 Sakura Gelly Roll Pen

Happiest Wishes Cards #2

Stamp the cat, cloud, and balloon onto a piece of Hammermill white cardstock with Intense Black Ink (copic friendly) and color with Copic Markers.

Grays:  N0, N1, N2, N4, N5  Pinks:  RV17, RV19 RV55

Next, cut them out and set them aside.

Creating the Card Base:

Cut out a white rectangle with the Mini Slimline Rectangles dies and cut a white rectangle.

Lay it flat on your work surface and cover it with the Mini Slimline Mask that is slightly smaller.

Use Surf and Limelicious Ink pads to lightly create a background.

Additionally, over that, lay the stars Mini Slimline Pattern Stencil and blend blue ink through it.  Switch out for the dots and blend the green ink through it to create the patterned background.

Putting the card together:

Use Foam tape to attach this to a 3-1/4 x 6-1/4 side folding white card base.

Finally, use foam squares to add the kitty and balloon.  Stamp a sentiment on the cloud and attach it last.  Add highlights with a #10 Sakura Gelly Roll Pen

Card #3 – the bear.

Love this little guy and I wanted to use some of the beautiful pattern paper from the kit so this is the same size slimline as card #2, however I faced the card base with the pattern paper.

As above, use the Misti to stamp color and cut out the bear and balloons.

Stamp the image and the sentiment again on the die cut white panel before attaching it to the card base.

Finally, add the colored elements with foam squares to pop them up a bit

        Love all your beautiful cards!
I was wondering if you could give me the name of the famous wine you rave about when you lived in Oregon!
My daughter is visiting her son my grandson in Portland Oregon this weekend.
        This would be greatly appreciated!
