Hero Arts Abstract Expressionist

Hi makers and welcome back.  Today’s the NEW My Monthly Hero Release from Hero Arts.  and I’m sharing a couple of cards I call Abstract Expressionist cards.

The March 2022 My Monthly Hero kit takes us to the Museum of Fine Art.  You’ll see a lot of inspiration based on some of the greatest artists in history like Pollock, Picasso and Monet.

The kit has a fabulous ink blot stamp set to create your inner Pollock art and there is a FABULOUS Museum die that creates the frame and the people sitting enjoying the piece.  I’ve listed all of the kit contents near the end of the post along with a list of the add ons this month.  The add ons are so much fun, and there is one stamp set especially for cat lovers – read on!

Abstract Expressionist Card 1

For my first card I really wanted to use the new Die from the kit, it’s amazing.  It cuts out the big frame, the people, the bench, and even the floor.

Cut two pieces, one in white and one in black.  Cut out the black frame, bench and people and glue over the white one to create the museum image.

White heat emboss the Abstract Expressionist Bold Print background stamp onto watercolor paper.

Use the smooshing technique with Hero Arts Watercolors in Indigo, Dandelion and Leaf to color in the image.

This turned out more yellow and blue and is dedicate to the people of the Ukraine

Adding the Sentiment:

The sentiment is from another Add On Stamp set this month called Creative Quotes.

Attach it to the top of the frame with foam squares.

Abstract Expressionist Card 2

I call this one PICCATSO, haha….this is an adorable stamp set called Art Meowseum and has a wonderful selection of cats in different poses of well known artist’s work.

I chose the Cubism Picasso technique and added a few lines to the stamped cat image so I could color in the background with Copic Makers.

Next, cut the Gold Foil frame using the new Looking Glass Ornate Frame Die just released in the new catalogue

Finally, stamp the sentiment underneath.
