Ever had one of those moments when you see a couple of products and you just know you have to use them both on the same card? Well, this post is How I Combined the BetterPress and Stitched Clubs for this card. The idea came to me immediately, and I had to run with it. Doing the ink blots with the Colorful Bold Splatter BetterPress of the Month Club Kit was the most fun I have had in a long time. I LOVE these plates and I can’t wait to foil with them too.

Starting the process, I went through my scrap bin for a rainbow of small pieces to cut the paint brush tips. Then I matched them up with Distress Oxide Inks. I love the chalky texture of the oxide inks and how you can see the previous splatter through the next color.
It took a bit to work my way across the art piece with the BetterPress, but work slowly, eyeballing where the next color will land, and keep a large damp cloth handy to clean off the plates as you go.
PRO-TIP: I used a piece of acrylic on my magnetic surface to keep it clean through all this as well. Also, I used my Tim Holtz Ink Blending Tools to add the colors and they worked super well.

How I Combined the BetterPress and Stitched Clubs for this Card
Let’s start with the colors of Ink Used:
This was my setup. I started with a piece of white cotton paper 3 x 8 taped to the top of my BetterPress.
Next, using different Splatter plates, and starting from the left and working to the right, I added each color.
Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Kitsch Flamingo.
How I Combined the BetterPress and Stitched Clubs for this Card – The paint brushes.
Start by using the paint brush die from the Stitched Colorful Palette Kit, and cut 9 from black card stock.
Next, cut out the stitched colored tips and stitch them all with the DMC Gold Thread.
Then, cut out the gold band and attach that to each one.
Finally, use foam squares to attach them evenly across your art piece, turn it over and trim from the back.
Putting it together.
Start by cutting a matte gold mat 3-1/4″ x 8-1/4″, then a black card front 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.
Next, create a Slimline Card Base from white cardstock 7″ x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 3-1/2″.
Then, attach all the panels together and attach to the card base.
Finally, I also BetterPressed one of the sentiments included in the BetterPress Club kit, but it covered up too much of my brushes, so I put it inside the card.
