Hey card making friends, welcome back. I have two Joyful Anemone Christmas Cards to share with you today. One that took 2 minutes, one that took two hours, haha. Obviously the second one isn’t mass producible unless you REALLY like to color, haha. The first one is made super easy with the Color Blend card fronts From Simon Says Stamp.
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.
I’m excited to be hopping over on INSTAGRAM with members of the design team sharing inspiration for the All the Joy Release.
GIVEAWAY: Leave a comment at each stop for a chance to win a $25. gift card for the Simon Says Stamp Store. Winners will be chosen randomly from the comments left on each hopper’s post. All winners will be announced on Simon’s Instagram feed on Tuesday, November 14th.
This Joyful Anemone is a 6 x 6 red rubber background stamp which you can use many ways. I’m sharing two today. For the first card, I simply gold heat embossed the image onto a Color Blend Panel. These panels are created by Simon Says Stamp, they already have a color blend on them, light to dark, so it’s super quick and easy to create pretty cards.
The second card, colored with copic markers, then the background was colored in black to really make the colors pop.
How to create the Joyful Anemone Christmas Cards – Card 1.
Start by placing the stamp into a Misti, removing the rubber mat to make room for the foam on the stamp.
Next, use the Stamp and Stencil Mat to line up your cardstock for stamping. You will need a Hammermill White 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 and a Black same size.
Then, stamp the image in VersaMark Ink, cover with detailed gold embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.
Cut the white panel down to 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ and color with copic markers then fill in the background in black.
COPICS USED:
Red: R20, R35, R46, R59, Green: G21, G24, G28, Black, 100
Finally, cut:
- a matte gold mat for the art piece at 3-3/8″ x 4-5/8″, – matte behind front art piece
- Cut the black gold embossed piece down to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″, – card front.
- Cut another gold matte 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2. – second card front.
Attach all of this to a top folding A2 sized white card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.
PRO-TIP: The art piece embossed design should line up with the embossed image on the black embossed card front piece.
Embellishing: Attach the art piece to the matte, then wrap gold cord around the bottom section 3 times before securing to the back. Use foam tape to attach this piece to the card base. Gold emboss the Graceful Holiday Greetings sentiment on black cardstock. Cut out the sentiment with the coordinating dies and attach over the gold cord.
How to create the Joyful Anemone Christmas Cards – Card 2.
Start with the first steps as above to line up the Misti and cardstock, this time using a piece of Color Blend cardstock cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″.
Next, gold emboss the stamp and attach to a black matte 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Attach this to a A2 sized, top folding white card base, 4-1/4″ x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2″.
Wrap gold cord around the card front 3 times securing to the front where the sentiment will cover it. (I use scotch tape to secure it).
Finally, gold emboss the Graceful Holiday Greetings sentiment on black cardstock. Cut out the sentiment with the coordinating dies and attach over the gold cord.

Wow, these are both brilliant!! The one w/ the dark background is so dramatic and so striking – I just love it. You were channeling your inner Yana… and the other one w/ the gradient background is also gorgeous. Well done!!

Thanks on the card Cheryl. The background coloring is super easy, it’s just time consuming and make sure you use a pen that has lots of ink in it, haha
