Altenew Delicate Magnolia Card Idea | Die Cut Floral Birthday Card

Hey cardmaking friends – hope you’re having a wonderful day!

Today, I’m sharing a brand-new card featuring the Delicate Magnolia die-cut card, and I’m so excited about this one!   Altenew recently invited me to join their Ambassador program – of course, I said yes, and this is my very first April post as part of that collaboration.

For this project, I started with the Delicate Magnolia Die set, then layered in the Leaf Essentials, Nesting Arches Die Set, and added beautiful texture with the Organic Linen Embossing Folder. I couldn’t be happier with how everything came together.

Altenew has generously given me a $20. gift card to give away over on my Instagram Page.  Pop over and leave a comment for your chance to win

Let’s jump in, and I’ll walk you through exactly how I created this delicate magnolia die-cut card!

How to create the Delicate Magnolia Die Cut Card:

Create the Card Base:

Start with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ panel of Cosmic Sky cardstock and emboss it using the Organic Linen embossing folder to add rich texture.  Adhere the panel to a white, top-folding, A-2 sized card base.

Create the Arch Panels:

Using the Nested Arches Die Set, die cut a larger arch from Cosmic Sky cardstock and a smaller arch from white cardstock.  Emboss the white panel with the Organic linen embossing folder, then adhere the two arches together.  Attach the layered arch to the center of the card front using foam tape for dimension.

Die Cut the Flowers and Leaves

Die cut three magnolia flowers from Lavender cardstock using the Delicate Magnolia Die Set.  Ink blend each layer with Hydrangea ink to add depth, then assemble the flowers using the Key Hole System for perfect alignment.

Next, die cut four leaves from Waterfall cardstock using the Leaf Essentials Die Set.  Ink blend the leaves with Volcano Lake ink to create soft shading and dimension.

Use foam squares to attach the leaves to the left side of the arch, then layer the magnolia flowers over top.

Die Cut the Sentiment:

Die cut the large “friend” sentiment from both white and Waterfall cardstock using the Timeless Sentiments Die Set, and adhere them together for a layered look.  Stamp the smaller sentiment from the One-Go Friendship Flowers Stamp Set.

Attach both sentiments to the right side of the card using foam squares.

Embellish the Card:

Finish the card by adding Crystal Clear Gems around the flowers and sentiment for a touch of sparkle.  Lightly splatter the card with white paint to tie everything together and add a soft, artistic finish.
