Aloha cardmaking friends – welcome back!
It’s the 6th of the month, which means it’s time for brand-new Spellbinders Clubs! For today’s project, I combined the Small Die of the Month and Large Die of the Month Clubs to create this tropical Mahalo Sea Turtle, Shaker Card.
The Mahalo Sea Turtle and Tropical Blooms die sets are the perfect pairing for a fun shaker card, and that sweet little sea turtle completely steals the show. The tropical flowers and lush greenery add the perfect island vibe, making this design feel like a mini getaway in a card.
Hawaii remains one of my all-time favorite vacation destinations, so I’m absolutely loving this month’s Paradise theme. If you’re dreaming of sandy beaches, tropical blooms, and ocean breezes, you’re going to love what Spellbinders has created this month.

Products used to create today’s Mahalo Sea Turtle Shaker Card:
Mahalo Sea Turtle – June 2026 Small Die of the Month
Tropical Blooms – June 2026 Large Die of the Month

How to Create the Mahalo Sea Turtle Shaker Card:
Create the Card Base:
Trim a panel of Waterfall cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and die cut the ocean window in the center.
Next, trim a panel of white cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and ink blend in Altenew Inks in Sea Glass, Ocean Wave, and Dusk to create the ocean-inspired background. Splatter the panel with water, then add white paint splatters for a foamy sea effect. Set aside to dry completely.
Turn the Waterfall panel over and adhere a piece of clear acetate to the back covering the die-cut opening. Add strips of foam tape around the edge of the opening to create the shaker well.
Add more foam tape around the outer edges of the panel. Fill the center with your favorite sequins, then adherre the ink-blended background panel to seal the shaker.
Attach the completed shaker panel to the front of a top-folding white A2 sized card base.
Die cut the Turtle and Foliage:
Die cut the Turtle pieces from Peridot and Rainforest cardstock and assemble.
For the Hibiscus flowers, die cut the pieces from Tutu cardstock and ink blended them with Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink to add depth and shading.
Die cut the foliage from Rainforest cardstock and ink blend them with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink.
Die cut the small tropical flowers from Beeswax cardstock and the flower centers from Saffron Cardstock.

Die cut the Sentiment:
Die cut the Mahalo sentiment in Teal Topaz cardstock and the shadow layer from Peridot cardstock. Adhere the layers together.
Assemble the Card:
Begin in the bottom left corner of the card and arrange the tropical foliage. Add the two large Hibiscus flowers, then tuck the yellow floral stems in among the leaves.
Adhere the Mahalo sentiment across the floral arrangement near the bottom of the card.
Finish by adding the sea turtle over the shaker window, creating the illusion that it is swimming through the tropical ocean. Your Mahalo Sea Turtle Shaker Card is now complete!
