Hi, crafty friends, and thanks for stopping by. The spooky season is almost upon us, so today’s project is a Mint Green Halloween card. I’m using the Simon Says Stamp Halloween Friends stamp set for today’s card and a few other goodies. It’s so much fun making greeting cards for this season, as you can be as silly or scary as you like. I have so many Halloween card ideas that it’s tough to find a place to start, LOL, but today, I decided on Mint Green as my base color to challenge myself to create a cute Halloween card without a lot of black cardstock.

Sometimes, the perfect Halloween cards are the unexpected ones, right? I LOVE how this came out. It’s a different color, but I love it, so let me give you the details so you can make one too.
Products Used:
- Halloween Friends Stamp set and coordinating dies
- Night Sky Builder Stencil
- Random Dots and Stars Stencil
How to create the Mint Green Halloween Card:
Start with a white card base cut at 4-1/4″ x 11″ score and fold at 5-1/2″. Then, add a black cardstock mat 4″ x 5-1/4″.
Next, cut a mint green card front 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″. Attach it to a sticky matte, and use the Night Sky Builder Stencil and mist-colored Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink to add the clouds. This is a simple technique and creates a beautiful background.
Then, use Shooting Star Lunar Paste to add the stars. Once the paste is dry, use clear blocks to stamp the bats with Memento Tuxedo black ink. This completes the background. It’s a good design with not too much going on, and it still allows for a second layer over it. Attach it to the card front with double-sided tape or a tape runner.
How to decorate the Mint Green Halloween Card:
Start by using the Misti to stamp the ghost three times. Cut him out with the coordinating dies, then use No and N1 gray Copic Markers to add shadow down the left side of each one. Use R81 to add pink to their cheeks.
Next, white heat emboss the word “BOO” onto a scrap of black cardstock. Cut this out with a circle die slightly larger than the sentiment and use foam squares to adhere it to the bottom of the card.
Then, add the ghosts with foam squares.
Finally, stamp the little pumpkin in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and color him with copic markers: YR21, YR15, and YR04 before die-cutting him out and adding him to the top of the sentiment.
Want to speed this up? Then try using designer paper instead of creating your own background. If you need to mass produce these, it would really speed it up.
That’s it for today’s blog post, I hope you enjoyed my card. Happy crafting and Happy Halloween.

That’s way too cute Sandi! Love the colors, such a fun design! 🙂
Thanks Amy, I’m into non-traditional colors again, haha
Great idea for this card! It does look fun and very cute!
thanks so much Sharon, I was going for cute and not scary, haha
Really cute card, especially for younger kids, not too scary. I like the use of the mint green as well. My question is where did you find the black spider webs, are they doilies or a die?
thank you Lynne. They are doilies, from Stampin Up many years ago
Love the green background – the card is super-cute!
