Rainbow Christmas Card

Hey cardies, and welcome back to my card making blog.  Today I have a Rainbow Christmas Card to share with you.  Yes, I’m travelling a little farther down that non traditional color christmas card path as many are this year.  It’s kind of fun to change it up completely and try something new, very freeing.

So, today I’m channeling my inner Laura Fadora and springing a Rainbow Christmas Card on you.  I’m using three new products from the recent Simon Says Stamp Peace on Earth Release for todays card.  I’m also doing the emboss resist technique.

How to create the Rainbow Christmas Card:

Start by white heat embossing the Holly Stems and Berries background stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.

Trim it down to 4 x 5-1/4 and use the new Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks to create the rainbow.

Colors used:

Cheeky, Blush, Mandarin, Lemonade, Limelicious and Surf.  I also used the small Simon Says Stamp blending brushes to create my rainbow.

Once the card front is dry, wipe the surface to remove any ink sitting on top of the embossing and mount it to a top folding white A2 sized care base.

To create the Delicate Leafy Branch:

This is a new die from Simon Says Stamp, Delicate Leafy Branch.  I cut it twice from Hammermill 100# card stock and glued it together with Bearly Art Glue.

Then, I attached it to the top center front of my card.

Adding the Sentiment to the Rainbow Christmas Card

Blend the Blush ink over a scrap of white cardstock big enough to cut the rejoice word from.

Use the shadow die to cut that piece out of vellum

Use the Bearly Art Glue to stack the two together.

Using very thin pieces of foam tape, attached behind the lettering, attach it to the bottom center of the card front.

That’s it.  A pretty rainbow Christmas card!.  They won’t be expecting that one, haha.  But they are so fun to make, so pick your favorite rainbow colors and give it a try.
