Hi paper crafting friends and Happy November. It’s the first of the month so that means all new kits from Spellbinders. My happy time of the month for sure, I love seeing their new kits each month. Today I’m sharing a Slimline Ornament Christmas Card. It’s created with the Small Die of the Month, the sentiment is from the Clear Stamp of the Month, and there is a border created with the Large Die of the Month. Ok, how about I used them all on one card, haha.
I really love the thought process that goes into these kits each month. They always coordinate with each other which makes creating fabulous cards so much fun. Sometimes I cut and foil a whole punch of pieces and then just sit and play with them, auditioning the pieces to see what comes of it. I often get quiet a few beautiful cards that way.
How to create the Slimline Ornament Christmas Card:
Cut a piece of Sand Pink cardstock 3-1/4 x 8-1/4
use the Die border scalloped edge (from the Glimmer Kit) to cut a scalloped angle down near the bottom of the piece.
Take the bottom piece, and cut off about 3/4 of an inch to leave enough room to heat emboss the sentiment on the white card base that shows through.
Adding the Sentiment:
Use repositionable tape to gently adhere the pink pieces to a white card base measuring 3-1/2 x 8-1/2.
Place into a Misti Stamping Tool and gold heat emboss the sentiment in the white strip that shows.
Next, using the Small Die of the Month kit for November, die cut all the ornaments from brushed gold Card.
Also cut white blanks with the outside die piece from scraps of white cardstock.
Use the Bearly Art Glue to attach them together. The fine tip is perfect for these tiny pieces.
Die cut the scalloped edge piece in white using the die from the Large Die of the Month Kit for November.
Assembling the card:
Remove the pink pieces from the card front.
Next, tie gold string through the ornament hanger.
Use foam tape to attach the ornaments to the top pink portion of the card front, pulling the strings straight up and securing on the back.
Finally, use the Bearly Art glue to attach the white border just above the scalloped edge cut, and trim flush.
Attach this pink piece to the top of the card base and the small pink piece to the bottom of the card base.
Embellishing.
Using the small poinsettia die and holly leaf die that comes with the Large Die of the Month Kit, die cut the poinsettia 8 times in white. Cut the holly leaves 8 times from Rainforest green.
Finally, Layer the flowers before attaching them to the ornaments and the bottom left of the card.
Use foam squares to attach the holly leaves.
The Gold Mix Color Essentials Gems are the perfect embellishment for the flower centers and around the art pieces.
