I really enjoyed the Distress Oxide Ink color combo I used last week on THIS CARD, so I decided to use it again, and with a little color tweak on one card as well.  I really like the soft pastel feel of these cards, it’s a change up from my usual BRIGHT in your face cards, haha.

And of course, I love to create wax seals.

When I’m doing a card series, I like to choose one background die set to incorporate.  Today I’m using Spellbinders Notched Corner Frame die set.  I used three different sized dies to showcase the art pieces on my cards.  For today’s cards I also used the Sealed for Christmas Sprigs Etched Dies on all three cards but in different ways.  They cut beautifully with deep etched details.

Sealed for Christmas Cards Card #1

Start by cutting a piece of white cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Ink blend Distress Oxide Inks in Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness and Pine Needles, then place it inside the Deco Holiday Embossing Folder and run it through the Platinum 6 die cutting machine.  Then, attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base. (4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″).
Next, use the Notched Corner Frames and Die cut a background piece from Blue Spruce cardstock.

Then, die cut the Poinsettia pieces 3 times and glue the pieces together.  Use a small blending brush and add Rustic Wilderness Ink to the leaves.

Finally, wrap the bottom of the Notched Corner Frame piece with the NEW Gold Circle Metallic Cord (LOVE this stuff), before attaching it to the center of the card with foam tape.  Add the 3 poinsettias, and then create a was seal with the Joy to the World Seal from the 3 Pack Wax Seal Holiday kit and Matcha colored wax beads.

Sealed for Christmas Cards #2

Start with a white A2 sized top folding card base 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ score and fold at 4-1/4″.

Next, cut a piece of the NEW Gold GLITTER Cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and attach to the card front.

PRO-TIP – the new Gold Glitter cardstock is fabulous.  It has a very thin plastic covering and it doesn’t shed – None of the Spellbinders Glitter paper does.

Then, use the Notched Corner Frames to create a second white card front.

Finally, die cut 5 poinsettias from white cardstock, 6 large holly leaves from the gold Glitter cardstock.  Wrap DMC gold thread around the white Notched Corner Frame and secure at the back before adding it to the card base with foam tape.  Use small pieces of foam tape and white glue to add the gold leaves and then the poinsettias.  Create a wax seal with gold wax and the new Merry Christmas Oval Wax Seal.  Color the lettering with the gold pen to highlight.

Adding the gold pen ink to the raised lettering really helps it to stand out.

Sealed for Christmas Cards #3

Start by cutting a piece of white cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″, ink blending the entire surface with Distress Oxide Inks:  Pine Needles, Rustic Wilderness and Evergreen Bough.  Next, place into the Evergreen 3D Embossing Folder and run it through the Platinum 6 die cutting machine.  Then, attach it to a top folding A2 sized card base (4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″).

Next, die cut a white card front using the Notched Corner Frame dies.  Wrap it with the Gold Metallic Metal Cord before attaching it to the card base with foam tape.

Then, Die cut the foliage.  Use a small blending brush to add some Evergreen Bough Ink to the large holly leaves and then attach them all to the card.  Cut the flower centers from the Gold Glitter paper.

Finally, create a oval wax seal with Pink Damask Wax and the new Merry Christmas Oval seal.

  1. Gorgeous set of cards. I must say the last one is my favorite. Love the colors used. The wax seal is perfect for arranging the stems of your bouquet ( is always have trouble making them look good).
You are on a roll with the wax seals!

  2. What a great idea to use a nested die set to create different sizes for the “bumped up” portion of each card. Time saver for making multiple cards that each have a different look. I also love the addition of the metallic gold centers to your flowers.

    1. thank you Gayle, yes, I love doing that especially when I’m making a grouping of cards with different sizes of art pieces. The flower centers? the gold glitter paper from Spellbinders is so pretty, I could not waste one little bit of it, so I was using the small pieces for the flower centers, haha

  3. These Sealed for Christmas Cards are absolutely delightful! 😍 The combination of the Distress Oxide Ink colors gives them a soft and elegant feel, a lovely departure from the typical bright and bold cards. The wax seals are a fantastic touch, adding a touch of sophistication to each design. It’s clear that you’ve put a lot of creativity and care into making these beautiful cards. The details, like the Notched Corner Frame and the various die-cut elements, really enhance the overall aesthetic. Thanks for sharing your inspiring card-making journey with us! 🌟🎄
