Simon Says Stamp Anchor Cards

Don’t you just love the monthly Simon Says Stamp releases?  I sure do, I get so excited about the new products each month.  Today’s excitement stems from the Simon Says Stamp Anchor Cards.

Simon Says Stamp Anchor Cards

I’m part of the Simon Says Stamp Design Family so I get little goodies in the mail right before the release to play with and share projects with you.  Two items I received, were the tag anchor die, and the anchor die, along with that amazing anchor background stamp…..so I went to town.

The release for June is called Rest and Refresh and what better place to do that that at the sea!…..so how about nautical themed cards….

Simon Says Stamp Anchor Cards

I decided on a light blue/red/white color theme as I light bright cheery colors in the summer.

Simon Says Stamp Anchor Cards #1

For this card, I didn’t have any patterned paper in these colors so I decided to make my own.  I snipped up some Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue card stock into two sizes and glued it to a white card base.

Next I matted that in white and then attached it to a A2 card base.

I die cut the two anchors and used Foam Tape to attach them then I die cut the sentiment.  This sentiment is cool because you can use the positive and the negative pieces.  I used both sort of.  I laid the tag over my card and added the die cuts back in so they lined up perfectly, and then gently removed the tag so just the letters remained.  I added a little bit of White Baker’s twine on one anchor just for some added interest.

I love that this card could be almost all occasions.

Simon Says Stamp Anchor Cards #2

For this card I White Heat embossed that awesome background stamp onto my card front before matting it in white and attaching it to a A2 card base.

Next I cut the anchor tag die out twice, and placed the red anchor inside the white tag.  I’m holding it in there with foam tape on the back.

I attached some May arts Burlap Twine to the top of the tag and then decided to white emboss a sentiment on a scrap of Lipstick Red card stock and die cut it with the Patriotic Service Tags Dies (the dog tag one).  I liked that it had the same rounded corners as my tag.

Both of these dies cut like butta!….and the single outline die (on the left)  is slightly bigger than the tag die.
