It’s that time again – a NEW SIMON SAYS STAMP RELEASE. Beautiful new products for us to create and play with. My share today is created with the Simon Says Stamp Celestial Wishes Stamp and Die Set, and I created a funky one layered card using stencils and solid image stamping. You can get the full card details below.
Does the stamp set look familiar? It should, it’s part of the May Stamp Kit of the Month released recently. Once the stamp kits are released, Simon adds the Stamp and Die Sets to their new release as well, so you can buy them individually, or in the kit with all the pretty paper. See the Kit HERE.

My idea for today’s card design came from throw pillows! I was in a home décor store the other day and I was admiring a bunch of throw pillows on display, reminiscent of the 70’s/80’s art style. Lots of funky colors and pencil line art. I’m old, so I’ve enjoyed this art before, LOL, so much so, I snuck a few pics because I knew they would make great card designs. Of course I had to use a little more vivid colors than what was on display, but hey, that’s just me.
Tonight’s release is called CELEBRATE – and it celebrates all things spring, birthdays, graduation, weddings, love, etc. (even taco Tuesday!) There is a ton of fun new product to get your create juices flowing – VISIT SIMON SAYS STAMP CELEBRATE RELEASE
Celestial Wishes Stamp and Die Set
Start by securing the card base to a work surface.
Next, use circle dies to cut out a selection of circles from 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ white card stock, to use as stencils. Ink blend through the stencils to create circles on the card front. I used Simon’s Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Ocean, Flannel and Pearfection.
Finally, using a Misti, layout the foliage branches and the sentiment from the Celestial Wishes Stamp and Die set. Cover in Black ink and stamp over the circles. Ad a few black rhinestones for some bling
Perfection – a one layer card, with a two layered fabulous ink design and you can probably make it in 10 minutes or less.
Of course you could change out the colors to anything you like together. The original cushion I saw had harvest Gold, Avocado Green and Golden Harvest (remember those colors of appliances and shag carpets from the 70’s? ), LOL
This is a huge 6 x 8 stamp set with tons of elements (12 in total), 3 large sentiments and 5 small sentiments to cover almost any occasion. As the images are solid, they are perfect to stamp over your wallpapers you have created with inks and powders, or even some of your favorite patterned Paper. The coordinating dies make easy work of cutting out the stamped images to add as overlays too. The Celestial Wishes Stamp and Die Set is currently on preorder, or you can order just the stamp set now.

Such a pretty card Sandi! Love the stenciled circles under the greenery images. Perfect! 🙂
thank you Amy, it was fun to do a single layer card
Love this! It’s very effective!
Age doesn’t affect creativity!!!
Thanks Sharon, and no it doesn’t. I actually think I’m more creative now than when I was younger.
This is fun! Love those pretty circles and the silhouette stamping. I’m old enough to appreciate that art too! And art does not date….. well maybe if you think about renaissance etc lol
Thanks Lisa, true, art does not date

Love your card inspiration! I had an avocado with harvest gold kitchen in the 70’s! Your modern spin on this is great and what a fantastic idea for a quick card.
Thank you Gayle, and yes I think we all had at least one of those colored appliances in the 70’s, LOL, I especially remember the shag carpet for some reason, lol. So glad you liked my quick and easy card
