Hello my card making friends and Happy Saturday. Today I’m Joining Simon Says Stamp for an epic United We Craft Party. Our goal is to bring you crafty inspiration and to inspire you to craft. I am so very grateful for crafting and this crafting community, it’s my happy place during these difficult times. I have a new Simon Says Stamp Cosmos Background card for you and it’s part of this fun party.
With 99 crafters involved, we have a whole day of crafty fun for you so grab a beverage of choice and settle in for some crafting fun. You can join in the fun to by creating a project and using the hashtag #SSSunitedwecraft on your social media platforms.
We were asked to hit our stash and create with our favorite Simon Says Stamp products from past releases. That way, you might have something similar in your stash you could use to craft along with us.
My choice was the Cosmos Background Stamp. I finally used it for the first time last week and I wasn’t done lovin on it yet…so here’s my second card created with it..
You can view the first one here.
The Simon Says Stamp Cosmos Background stamp is 5.75 x 5.76 high quality rubber with a foam backing and it’s just stunning. I use my Misti Stamping Tool to stamp it to ensure I get a good solid dark image and then spend dreamy time coloring.
I used the Gina K Amalgam Black ink to stamp it as it’s copic friendly and waterproof too, if you decide you want to watercolor the image.
Another Favorite of mine is the Simon Says Stamp A2 Thin Frames...I love how I can cut out that outline frame and then embed another that coordinates with my card, I just love that look.
And finally, it was a real toss up on sentiment dies. In my humble opinion, Simon has one of the best selections of sentiment dies around and after much to do, I settled on the Miss You Die Set!
I used my copics to color this one. All the colors are listed in the PDF download below and I did the Copic Pointillism technique for the flower centers. Meaning, you make dots with the tip of your brush tip, and just keep going until you blend the colors in. It’s fun, but I really only like doing it in small areas, haha, for the flowers, I used the flicking technique and I shared a video about that here.
Finally, I added a few copper round sequins from the Simon Says Sunken Treasure collection.
