Hey card making friends, welcome back. Today I have a Simon Says Stamps Cosmos Duo Mixed Media Hand Made Card to share with you. I had some creative fun combining the Cosmos Duo die with the Sunflower Pattern Stencil and the Old Letter stamp along with a few pretty inks from Simon to create today’s card. The full card instructions are below.

PRODUCTS USED:
- Cosmos Duo Die Set
- Old Letter 6 x 6 background stamp
- Sunflower pattern Stencil
- Cheering Stamp Set

- Pawsitively Saturated inks in: Dew, Mist, Heather, Violet and Iris, Sage, and Ink smooshed with Surf.
How to create the Simon Says Stamp Cosmos Duo Mixed Media Hand Made Card:
The background process looks difficult, but it’s really easy. It’s 3 layers of different designs. Heat embossing, then Ink Smooshing, then stenciling.
Start by white heat embossing the Old Letter Stamp into a piece of watercolor paper cut 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″.
Next, on a protected surface, pounce the Surf ink pad a couple of times, spritz with water and then smoosh the watercolor paper into the wet ink, heat drying the paper between each Smoosh until you get the designed coverage.
Then, using the Sunflower pattern stencils, ink blend the large outline flower and the leaves using Dew ink. Then use the round flower center part of the stencil to add a Boken effect randomly over the background with Dew and Heather ink.
Cut the piece down to 4″ x 5-1/4″ tearing the right-hand side to leave a rough edge.
Creating the Cosmos Duo Flowers
Start by die cutting the Cosmos Duo Die flowers 3 times from scraps of white cardstock.
Next, ink 1 in each Heather, Violet and Iris Inks. Glue the stems together as one and ink in Sage ink. Glue the centers together and ink in black.
Then, glue the flowers together, dark to light, offsetting them slightly so the other colors show through. Then attach to the card front.
Place on a protected surface and splatter with black and white ink. When dry, attach to a top folding A2 sized white card base. 4-1/4″ x 11″ – score and fold at 5-1/2″.
Finally, ink blend a scrap of white cardstock with the Dew ink. Dry with a heat tool then white heat emboss the sentiment from the Cheering stamp set. Attach to the card with foam squares to add dimension. Embellish with some teal-colored gems.

If you do place an order using my affiliate links (and thank you if you do) – please email me with the $$ amount before tax and shipping, and which company it was placed through, along with your mailing address and I’ll send you a hand made card as my thank you. Sandimaciver@gmail.com
The reason I ask for that specific info is the system that tracks the sales only gives us a dollar amount and company name, we do not know who made the sale.
WOW! Where shall I begin? The flowers are gorgeous but the background says it all!
I’m glad you said it was easy because it doesn’t look it!!! That’s what caught my eye
in the beginning!!!
Thank you Sharon, would a video help?
If you feel so inclined, it probably would help with the steps! I have come to the conclusion I am a lazy crafter, always looking for the quick route!!!
ok, I’ll tape one tomorrow and prove to you how easy it is, haha
Just beautiful Sandi! Love the colors and the background is perfect with your flower die cuts! 🙂
thank you Amy
Stunning card! Putting together sunflower stencils, a script stamp and flower dies and creating a beautiful card, wishing I had your vision and talent. The cosmo dies are in my shopping cart using your link, love how you layered them.
Aw, thank you Lynne, if you do place your order, let me know, as I love to send hand made thank you cards. Also, would a video help with this card?
I love watching cardmaking videos, and would love it if you made one, but your written instructions were pretty clear. I did place an order for the cosmos dies, and also added a Honey bee amaryllis die, and deleted a few add on dies as well, lol. Shopping with SSS is way too tempting, I do shop there, when I can’t find what I want on Canadian store sites.
Thanks for using my link Lynne, much appreciated, if you want to send me your mailing address I would love to send you a thank you card sandimaciver@gmail.com.
and yes I agree, I use Simon for orders all the time.
ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! Wow! Love
Thank you Natasha
This is absolutely GORGEOUS Sandi. Really really pretty. The background is what really takes it to the next level, beautifully made.
