Hi card making friends and welcome back. Recently I was playing with my Karin Markers and in particular the grays that came in the set to create a background for my Simon Says STamp Daisy Bouquet Card.
and just a quick note from our friends over at Spellbinders who are having a HUGE Warehouse Sale.
As it’s time sensitive, I just wanted to pop it in here for you as there are some great deals.
Ok, back to today’s card:
With all the fires around, our skies have been very gray but the gardens are still in full bloom and it created quite a contrast, so much so I decided to try it in a card.
To create the Simon Says Stamp Daisy Bouquet Card:
Use the Misti Stamping Platform to stamp the image into watercolor paper with Versamark ink.
Black heat emboss the image and let cool.
Color the Daisy images with the yellow and green markers:
Let the daisies dry completely.
Use the gray markers to color in the background. I did find that the lighter colors blended more easily than the darker ones did. Some of the darker ones left lines which I had a very hard time getting out, even using the wet on wet technique, but I kept going and did the entire background.
Add a black mat behind the art piece before attaching it to a top folding A2 Simon Says Stamp Sunshine Yellow card base.
Die cut the Thanks Frame from a piece of Mirror Gold and mat it in black for the sentiment at the bottom.
Once finished, I wasn’t overly happy with the background but it was more about reproducing what I was seeing outside – and that’s kind of the way 2020 has been going hasn’t it, haha. I think I would prefer a lighter background, maybe turnquoise? But it’s also nice to know how the darker color markers respond as well.

Very pretty Sandi! Love those daisies on the dark background. 🙂
thanks Amy, with all the smoke up here, that’s what our skies look like right now

thanks Debby, it really does make the flowers pop
I love your daisies and the gray background! Stunning!
Thanks Natasha, it was kind of a science project, but I liked the way it turned out, haha
