Hey crafty friends, hope you are having a fabulous weekend. I thought I would pop in with another new card, Simon Says Stamp Hexagon Background. The Hexagon Background stamp is another new release for STAMPTEMBER. It’s a huge 6 x 6 rubber stamp with foam backing.
Just a heads up – Today is the last day for many of the Crafty Sales going on this weekend – and a couple of new ones have been added Check out my Paper Crafting Sales Page
On to today’s Simon Says Stamp Hexagon Background card:
I love these backgrounds stamps. They are rubber, (like in the good old days), they stamp beautifully. At 6 x 6″ they are HUGE, so you can use them for a background or an art element. There are also many different techniques you can use with them.
For today’s card I decided to white heat emboss the image onto a piece of watercolor paper and create my card front with it.
I went for a bright and cheery background using Gansai Tambi watercolors in yellow, green and pink.
Once dry, cut it down to 4 x 5-1/4 and attach it to a top folding white, A2 sized card base.
I decided on a white floral overlay. The Poppy Stem and Cosmo Stem dies from Simon Says Stamp have enough detail etched into them to stand on their own.
Adding the Sentiment:
Next, I cut the Wishing You Joy sentiment in Simon Says Stamp Green Apple card stock.
Cut the shadow background in vellum to allow more of the colored background to be seen.
Finally, I added a few florescent green sequins from the Rainbow Party Sequin Mix.

So pretty! Such a cool background, love the die cut flowers too! 🙂

Very beautiful! Love the fresh colours you chose for this background!
I love this! STUNNING
Oooooooooooh! I love this ! Very modern and beautiful! Love the b/w flowers on a colorful field. I have those watercolors. Maybe I will give something like this (I have various argyle stencils and stamps, if not this exact one).

Thanks Lori, do give it a try, the background is very easy to watercolor, especially if you heat emboss it first. That will create little bridges to keep your wet watercolor contained. and yes you can do this fun and easy background with any lined background stamp
