Crystal Distortion #2

Hi cardmaking friends and Happy Labor Day Weekend.  Today I have Crystal Distortion  #2 Card for you, created with the amazing new Crystal Distortion E/F from Simon Says Stamp

handmade white card with an embossed front and three yellow watercolored flowers using paper crafting products from SImon Says Stamp

Sorry this post is late. I updated the CRAFTY SALES PAGE and Newsletter and boy are there a ton of sales on this weekend.

The newsletter was sent out this morning.  If you didn’t receive it, hop over to the CRAFTY SALES PAGE, and Subscribe in the pop up that appears on that page.  You will get a email each Saturday morning with new sales and new product releases.

PLEASE NOTE – during Stamptember I will be updating the Crafty Sales Page daily.

Each day is a new COLLABORATION Stamp Set between Simon Says Stamp and other stamp companies.  These stamps are exclusive and only a certain number were created, so they sell out fast.

Ok, on to today’s share:

As promised, here is Crystal Distortion #2 Card:

This new Crystal Distortion embossing folder was released with the Stamptember release from Simon Says Stamp and I’m so in love with it.

So many facets and so deeply etched – It adds so much depth to a card with one run through the die cutting machine.

TIP – if you spritz your cardstock lightly with water before you emboss you will get a deeper impression without tearing your paper.

I use Hammermill 100# white card stock and have had no issues with tearing.

Over the beautiful background I die cut the Cosmos Stem and Poppy Stem dies.

Next, watercolor them with Gansai Tambi watercolors

Finally, add the two layer sentiment cut with the Hugs Dies from Simon Says Stamp.

Cut the shadow background from vellum so you can still see what’s underneath

Finally, embellish with a few Rainbow Party Sequins.

  1. Dear Sandi –
Your card is a real beauty. Thx for sharing!
Any chance you can elucidate something for me? I was on the SSS site last night at about 11:45, waiting for the Lawn Fawn set to be revealed. It was already sold out… If the sets release at midnight, how did that happen? If you have any ideas, could you pls let me know? It turned out I did not really mind once I saw the sloths (I am not a fan), so I went to bed. But for the rest of the month….? Do I start looking at 11 p.m.?
Thanks and have a great day!

    1. Thanks on the card Lori. As for the collaboration set from Lawn Fawn, it’s still available. The only one that is sold out is yesterdays from Pinkfresh. It’s been my experience that shortly after midnight you can order the new sets, and they are usually available for 4 -5 hours if they are hot, sometimes for an entire day..
I’m guessing that perhaps you got onto the website just as they were changing things over, and got the sold out notice because of that, but I don’t know for sure

  2. a wonderful & different e.f….your cards are lovely, as usual. You have so much experience colouring some of the cards look like professional paintings. TFS!
