Simon Says Stamp PepperBerry Embossing Folder

Hey card making friends.  I’m so excited to share with you two cards created with the Simon Says Stamp PepperBerry Embossing Folder Bundle.  This is one beautiful folder and you can use it year round.  Plus there are three dies to cut out images that you have embossed to use as art pieces on your cards.   If you are like me and love things all matchy matchy, your heart will pitter patter over this one for sure.

Adding to today’s excitement, it’s day two of STAMPTEMBER and there is a HUGE BLOG PARTY, where all the design family are sharing more inspiration from yesterday’s release.  You can follow the blog hop over on the Simon Says Stamp BLOG.  As with all good parties – there are goodies for the attendees too.  Simon Is giving you a free “dream Big” die with each $30. purchase.  Use Code RM2MD1GK.  Offer good while supplies last.  Shop Simon Says Stamp

To ink blend on the embossed images I used Simon Says Stamp Detailed Round Small Blending Brushes.  I did a video last month showing how to do that, you can view it here:

For today’s cards I stayed with a fairly soft palette.  I have been playing with SImon’s new Detailed Blending Brushes so I used them along with Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Sage and Cherry to add color to the die cut/embossed images.  Once that ink was dry, I used a white gel pen to add a few details.  These cards are super fun and easy to create and I’ve shared a PDF tutorial below for each.

Simon Says Stamp PepperBerry Embossing Folder Card #1

Start by using the Circle Thin Frames to die cut a circle from the light green cardstock (this is from my stash and I think it’s Simon’s Mint cardstock.

Next, use the same die and cut the circle out of matt gold cardstock.

Then, glue the green circle to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 white card front.  Place inside the embossing folder and run it through the die cutting machine

Next, use the fine tip on the Bearly Art Glue to glue the thin gold circle the die cuts around the outside edge of the green circle.  (save the gold circle for another project)

Use a second piece of white cardstock 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 and emboss it before die cutting the images out.

Finally, use the detailed round blending brushes to add the colors to the die cut pieces.  Next, highlight with a white Gel Pen, then glue to the card on the left side.

Adding the Sentiment:

Die cut the new Handwritten Hello sentiment die once in gold and twice in white.  Stack them and add them inside the green circle near the top of the card.

Simon Says Stamp PepperBerry Embossing Folder Card #2

The steps for card two are exactly the same as card one except for the card front.

First, cut a white card front 3-3/4 x 5 and attach it to a light green card front 4-1/4 x 5-1/2

Next, Place inside the embossing folder and run through the die cutting machine.  This creates an instant frame around your art work with the embossed design carrying through.  So Cool!

Use a second piece of white cardstock 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 and emboss it before die cutting the images out

Finally, use the detailed round blending brushes to add the colors to the die cut pieces.

Embellish with a white gel pen before attaching down the left side of the card.

Use the same sentiment die to add the sentiment.

Now it’s time to Hop to the next stop along the way.

  1. You alway amaze me. Love this technique and thanks for the PDF file – very helpful. Got those lovely brushes in my cart now…. Thanks for sharing with us and doing such a wonderful job keeping us informed; it is very much appreciated.

    1. Aw thank you Mary, I’m so glad you enjoyed today’s cards. Those little brushes are awesome for adding ink to little die cut pieces, you have so much more control. Thanks again for stopping by my blog and for always leaving such positive comments, I really do appreciate it.

  2. Your cards stood out to me in the SSS email I got this morning, so had to come check them out. Absolutely gorgeous! The added detail with the white pen is amazing! Thank you so much for the tutorials/PDFs! I’m going to watch your video showing how to use the detail brushes as I haven’t tried to do this yet.

    1. Hi Greta. Aw thank you so much. Adding dots with a gel pen is a super easy way to add a bit of detail to your art pieces. You are so welcome on the PDFs, I try to do them as often as I can. Using the detailed brushes is very easy, place it down where you want the darkest ink, and flick towards to lighter end, cut a few extra leave dies and practice a bit, it’s not too hard.

  3. Your two cards are my favorite on the hop! I love the colors used, the way you embossed the two panels and the white highlights. Subscribed to you blog last night.

  4. Wow-beautiful cards. Thank you for the detailed description-it was very helpful. I wasn’t sure I wanted/needed this set, but after seeing so many beautiful cards in the “hop”/celebration, I may have to cave in and purchase them. I like that there is an embossing folder and matching die.
