Slimline Snowy Greetings

Hi card making friends and welcome back.  Today I have a Slimline Snowy Greetings card created with the New Snowy Greetings sentiment die from the Simon Says Stamp And Back Again release.

We are in the middle of another cold spell up here with snowy days so it was kind of fitting to create a snowflake card.  It’s more fun that shoveling the driveway, haha.  Let’s jump in to creating this quick and easy card.

Creating the Slimline Snowy Greetings Card.

Cut a piece of Hammermill cardstock 3-1/4 x 8-1/4

Use Blending Tools to add Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Salty Ocean down the entire front of the card

Next, lay down the Fading Tiny Dots Slimline Stencil and use a palette knife to add Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel through the stencil to create the frozen icy drops in the background.

Decorating the Card Front:

Die cut the sentiment in white and the shadow in vellum and stack.  TIP  Bearly Art glue works great for this with it’s fine point tip.

Next, cut out a selection of white snowflakes from scraps of hammermill card stock.

Used Today:

Use Bearly Art glue with the fine tip to glue the snowflakes into the card front.  Trim off the overhang and use 1/4 inch Scor Tape to attach the card front to the side folding  3-1/2 x 8 1/2 card base.

Card Base:

Cut a piece of White Hammermill 7 x 8-1/2, score on the 7 inch side at 3-1/2 and fold to create the card base.

Finally, slice small pieces of foam tape to fit behind the white writing on the sentiment piece and attach to the card.

Add a large clear gem to the center of each snowflake using the Picket Fence Studios Sands of Time Gem Mix (my favorite – it’s full of silver and gold gems in many sizes).

  1. Love your combination of blues, the vellum and the way you applies the snowflakes. Great card, Sandi!
