Spellbinders Bibi’s Butterflies

Hi card making friends.  I’m super excited about today’s post.  Spellbinders Bibi’s Butterflies release is from my dear friend Bibi Cameron.  This collection is fabulous and is a must have to any stamping stash.  There are so many beautiful butterflies in different sizes, there is one for any project you can imagine.  The coordinating stamp set has a sentiment for any occasions, and another set of 3 different sizes of butterflies.

I made three cards to share with you today ranging from half a day of die cutting (just kidding – sort of), to a real quick and easy card.

The release consists of:

Butterfly Sentiments Clear Stamp Set

Geometric Butterfly Stencil

So Many Butterflies Etched Dies

Delicate Butterflies Etched Dies

Pop Up Butterfly Etched Die

Butterfly Card Creator

Spellbinders Bibi’s Butterflies Card #1

– this was the half day cutting card just in case you didn’t figure that out haha.

My favorite from this series is the Butterfly Card Creator and I used it on my first card.  I love it because it creates butterfly shaped cards and of course all the fabulous floral dies to decorate it.

Cut the butterfly base twice.  Score at the top on the back piece, add scor tape and attach the two together to create a top folding butterfly shaped card base.

Die cut the body in black and glue on.

Die cut the florals and glue together.  Attach them to the card with foam squares for added dimension.

Finally, gold heat emboss a sentiment and attach to the top right wing.

Add some gold Color Essentials Gems for bling.

Mini Slimline Alcohol Ink Butterfly Card

Use the Precision Layering Mini Slimline Dies to cut layers for the card front.  Attach to a White side folding card base. (Love these dies, they give you beautiful edges on your mats).

Card Base:  6-1/2 x 6-1/4, score with the 6-1/2 side at the top, at 3-1/4 and fold to create the card base.

Before attaching the top white layer, place inside the Geo Screen Embossing Folder and emboss.

This card uses the Delicate Butterflies Etched Dies set.

Next, use Alcohol inks on Yupo and rainbow colors and then use the dies to cut out the butterflies.  Cut the bodies from black cardstock.

Attach the butterflies to the card front.

Finally, add a gold embossed sentiment and color essential gems in Prism, Aquamarine and green.

Spellbinders Bibi’s Butterflies Card #3 – Quick and Easy Butterfly Card:

This one again uses the Butterfly Card Creator.  There are two sizes of dies for the base, so I cut the big one out of the Waterfall card stock.

Cut the smaller one out of White and use the Lahaina embossing folder to emboss it.

Use liquid glue to attach it to the card front and then add the butterfly body

Next, cut out the two flowers and leaves, glue the layers together and attach to the card with foam squares.

Finally, add a gold embossed sentiment and some gold Color Essentials Gems.
