Spellbinders Cutest Die Set EVER

Hey card making friends.  Today I’m sharing Spellbinders Cutest Die set EVER.   I mean seriously, who doesn’t love the Fruit Loops Bird?   haha….it was my favorite cereal as a kid but we only got it as a treat a couple of times a year, LOL., So when I opened the Spellbinders May 2024 Small Die of the Month set, I squealed, heck, I think the neighbors heard me, LOL…..and I also love parrots, so it’s a Twofer for sure.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.

Spellbinders Cutest Die Set Ever

The entire card is die cut with the Small Die of the Month Club  “Tropical Friends” and peeking out from behind, you will see the BEAUTIFUL 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Scattered Tropics….we are going to have some fun with that one this month.

Of course I had to use my favorite shades of blues and greens for this one, and a pile of small scraps from my Spellbinders card stock stash.

Spellbinders Cutest Die Set EVER – How to make the card

Start by die cutting the toucan and parrot from scraps of cardstock.  You of course can make yours any color you like.  I made a red yellow and blue parrot to start with, but his colors really clashed with the rest of the card.

Next, use the Scattered Tropics 3D embossing folder to emboss a piece of Waterfall cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, (spritz it with water first to get a nice deep impression).  Once the piece is dry again, attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base.  4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.

Then, cut out the greenery from more scraps of cardstock in different shades of green.  For the leaves I also sponged a bit of Pine Needles Distress Oxide Ink on them to add shadows, and I went around the outside of my teal blue parrot with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink.

Finally, use Bearly Art glue with the fine tip to glue all the greenery down and foam squares to add the birds and flowers.

Adding the sentiment:

Start by using Gold Glimmer Foil to foil the Sentiments for Everyday onto black cardstock.

Next, trim it down and attach it to the card with foam squares.

The May clubs go live for new subscribers on May 6th through the 27th.  The fun tropical theme will keep you inspired all month long.
