Hey, card-making friends. I’m back today with two Spellbinders Friendship is Everything Cards. The Glimmer Monthly Club for December is this beautiful floral cluster. It’s the perfect size to copic color, or if you’re time-deprived, a quick run through the foiling machine on some colored card stock results in an elegant overlay for your special card.

In today’s post I’ll walk you through creating both cards. They are quick and easy, and the additional of the Tiny Hearts Scallop Embossing Folder background adds interest and detail without a bunch of additional work. Plus I love the subtle scallop design on this folder. Both sentiments are from the Friendship Is Everything Glimmer of the Month Kit.
How to create the Spellbinders Friendship is Everything Cards
Start with four pieces of cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ two in waterfall and two white. Heat up the glimmer foil machine and foil one of each color with Polished Brass Glimmer Hot foil and the Friendship is Everything Glimmer Plate.
Then, use the coordinating border die to cut the right side edge. Also foil both sentiments on scraps of white card stock.
Next, emboss the other two pieces with the Tiny Hearts Scallop embossing folder before attaching them both to top folding A2 sized white card bases. 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.
Coloring the Image:
I went back and forth on having one or two colors of flowers on this one. I opted for the cleaner look of just one color and decided on yellow. My second choice was light pink, as I like the pink/turquoise color combo.
Copic Markers Used:
- Yellows: Y13, Y15, Y19.
- Greens: YG03, YG17, YG67.
I prefer to color from light to dark. Start by flooding the petal with the lightest color, add the shadow with the medium, smaller shadow with the dark. Then go back over the entire petal with the lightest color to blend. I find doing this twice creates a nice even blend in the color saturation.
Once the panel is colored, use foam squares or tape to attach it down the left side of the card.
Finally, add the sentiment, also with foam squares.
Don’t have time to color? No Problem.
Glimmer Hot Foil looks so elegant on colored cardstock. The above is Polished Brass foil over waterfall cardstock.
It’s further enhanced by the subtle Tiny Hearts Scallop embossed background and the simple foiled sentiment. Perfect for Valentine’s Day.
All of the products used today are part of the December Spellbinders Monthly Clubs. You can sign up for them individually, or consider the Deluxe Caboodle Club. It’s all of the clubs combined, with a 60% savings and only one shipping fee. You also receive a free gift each month. This month, it’s this adorable love monster.
This month there is an additional bonus gift of this lovely tote. Spellbinders was kind enough to send one my way and I use it all the time. It’s big and roomy with nice wide shoulder straps.

Beautiful designs Sandi! Love those floral images, they are beautiful colored and just embossed! 🙂
