Spellbinders Have a Chill Summer

Hi card making friends, thanks so much for stopping in today.  I’m playing with the new Clear Stamp and Die set for the July Kits today called Spellbinders Have a Chill Summer.  Kind of funny, as it’s a very cool 16 degrees here today and I have sweat pants and a long sleeved shirt on, so it’s CHILL here, haha.  Anyway, I have fun creating these adorable little popsicles in my favorite flavor – strawberry.

The Spellbinders Have a Chill Summer is a two step stamp set, with a background fill in stamp and then a detailed overlay stamp.  The main popsicle image is a solid stamp which you can ink layer on.

Spellbinders Have a Chill Summer

This is a super fun stamp set to play with because you get to make the popsicles in your favorite flavors.  Simply use blending brushes to add the colors to the solid image stamp.

Use Simon Says Stamps Ink:  Bubblegum Guava and Sweets and blending brushes to add the inks to the stamp in layers.

Next, stamp the stick using Latte and Mocha also from Simon Says Stamp

Then, stamp the strawberries in the bubblegum ink and the seeds in Guava

Finally, use the coordinating dies to cut out the images.

Creating the Background and Sentiment:

Cut a card front 4 x 5-1/4 in white and place inside the Geometric Stripes Embossing Folder (July Club Folder)

Next, cut a full sized card front 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 in Peridot and attach to a top folding A2 white card base.

Use Foam squares to attach the popsicles and strawberries

Stamp the sentiment in black, trim and add.

Finally, embellish with Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems.

  1. What a lovely cool popsicle – such a shame it’ not very hot for you. Love your colours and I love the movement with the strawberries – super cute!

    1. haha, well, wait 5 minutes and the weather will change, we are back up there for heat again, so yes, a strawberry popsicle would be awesome right about now
