Hey cardmaking friends, welcome back. Today I have Spellbinders June Large Die of the Month to share with you and a couple of cards I made with it. This kit is called Color Block Circles and Stripes and it’s a boatload of fun to play with.
Sorry to have been so quiet over the past week. I had my semi annual C.T. scan on Tuesday morning in Calgary. I always get a bit freaked out the week before so I took some time to get out and finish building and planting our vegi gardens, some long snoozes, time with Ian and Oscar and just tried to de-stress. The scan itself went fine, I’m not claustrophobic, so I really don’t mine them, it’s waiting for the results to see if the cancer has returned, I have my call with my oncologist on Tuesday so I’ll just bury myself in card making until then haha or getting dirty in the garden.
I spent yesterday playing with the fabulous new Spellbinders June Large Die of the Month and it’s another winner for sure. There are some fabulous die cutting elements in this set.
Long skinny stipes in three widths, a squiggly one, and two circles. There are also three circle sentiment dies.
Just grab some different colors of card stock and do some cutting and see what kind of designs you can come up with.
That’s what I did, and then are started fooling around piecing them together.
Mini Slimline Card Spellbinders June Large Die of the Month Card:
To create the Mini Slimline Card, start by die cutting the strips and attaching them to a 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 card base.
Next, cut each of the colored circles three times in each of the 5 colors to create three identical circles.
TIP – cut one of the solid circles and build on top of that, starting from the outside in.
Second Tip – The fine tip on the Bearly glue is perfect for these circles so you don’t have a bunch of glue oozing out
Cut the squiggly piece twice in two different colors.
Mark the center of the card base and then attach the two squiggly pieces first.
Next attach the colored circles.

For the Sentiment:
The sentiment is part of the Spellbinders JUNE Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the month. I like to glimmer foil all of the elements each month and then use them on different cards.
Slimline Spellbinders June Die Kit of the Month Card:
So, once I had the first card finished, I had all these circles sitting on my work table….I hate throwing out perfectly good die cuts, so I cut a 3-1/8 x 8-1/8 ” Slimline Card front, and started laying them out.
Next, I just the Bearly glue with the fine tip to glue them all down
Once the glue is dry, flip over the card front and trim off the circles from the back.
Mount the art piece to a 3-1/4 x 8-1/4 mat cut from one of the colors. I chose the darker teal color
Then mount it to the card base which is 7 x 8-1/2, scored and folded at 3-1/2
For the Sentiment
Again, the sentiment is from the Spellbinders June Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the month.
That fabulous ( and HUGE), Happy Birthday sentiment is so fun. I gold heat embossed it onto the same dark teal card stock as my mat and then used the included outline die to cut it out.
The snarky sayings in this months Foil kit are lot of fun, so I had to add an additional one to this card too.
The June Large Die of the Month Kit is available until June 24th and it’s definitely worth having in your stash. I can see using this one over and over and I know I’ll be back to make more cards with it.
