Simon Says Stamp Sundae Afternoons

Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back.  Simon Says Stamp Sundae Afternoons is my favorite stamp set from the NEW RAINBOW Release and I have a Slimline Card to share with you today using it.

This 6 x 8 stamp set is all about Ice Cream, so who wouldn’t love it, haha.  And you can color all your favorite flavors.

We had a very loud thunder and lightening storm here last night starting at 2 a.m.  So I have been up with Oscar (the corgi) since then keeping him company…thunder isn’t his favorite thing.  If there are errors in this post, please forgive me.  Hopefully, we can both catch a snooze later today, haha.  I was scared to go outside and see my gardens…it rained so hard, I was sure the tomatoes would be smashed, and the rivers of water would have washed my seeds away.  Seems to be the norm here in Alberta, but luckily everything survived, yeah!  I have learned to buy extra seeds just in case I need to replant.  Hope the sun is shining where you are today!

Ok, on to today’s SLIMLINE CARD and how to create it.  Also, if you need more info on these cards, I have an entire page dedicated to How to Create a Slimline Card.  Along with links to companies who sell slimline card products.

Create the Rainbow Background for the Simon Says Stamp Sundae Afternoons Slimline Card.

In keeping with the Rainbow Theme for this month’s release, I chose to create a quick and easy rainbow background for today’s card.

Start by die cutting the card front with the Simon Says Stamp Slimline Marquee dies.  The little dot cut outs around the border mirror the background design I was creating.

Next, use blending brushes to add color across the piece.  I used Distress Oxide Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Worm Lipstick, Mowed Lawn and Squeezed Lemonade.

Over that, lay down the I Like Big Dots Stencil – which is also long enough to cover a Slimline Card.  Blend the same colors through the dots to create the subtle circles in the background.

For the Sentiment:

Stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink onto a scrap of black card stock and white heat emboss it.

Attach it across the bottom portion of the card front and trim the sides.

Use Copic Markers to color the Sundae’s.

Using a copic friendly black ink, use the Misti to stamp the images onto Hammermill white cardstock.

Color the images with copics.

die cut the images using the coordinating dies.

TIP – I also colored a couple of extra strawberries and cherries, using two on the sentiment and two on the inside of the card.

Final Embellishments:

The Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Party sequins are the perfect colors to match my Rainbow Card.

Ok, that’s it for me today, hope you have an awesome day and thanks so much for stopping in.
