Spellbinders Stitched Snowflake Cards

Hey card making friends, welcome back.  Today I’m sharing Spellbinders Stitched Snowflake Cards Created with the July Stitched Die of the Month Kit.

It’s been a crazy three months around here.  We finished our renovation and put our house up for sale.  It’s been a nightmare.  Endless showings, can I say, by rude uncaring realtors, crazy offers.  Then trying to buy on the other side of Calgary, overpriced houses in very poor condition and bidding wars.  We had a long discussion last weekend and decided we are not getting into the fray.  We took our house off the market and spent the week decompressing.  We are putting our energy into enjoying our short summer out on our deck.  Ian will continue to commute and life has gotten back to normal – YEAH.  My postings will get more regular again without the constant interruptions and house cleaning which is good because I have a PILE of projects here to share with you, haha.

Spellbinders Stitched Snowflake Cards

I was having so much fun with this months Stitching kit I ended up making three cards.  The Christmas theme of all this month’s kits is perfect because I’m way ahead on my holiday card making.  That of course takes the stress off in October when your trying to do “all the things”, haha.

Creating the Spellbinders Stitched Snowflake Cards:

All of the cards are the same except for the background colors.

Start by using the background Plate and cut all three card bases.  Cardstock is Spellbinders Pink Sand and Waterfall, and Stampin Up Mint Macaron.

Then, ink blend the edges with a coordinating ink color:  Pinkfresh:  Ocean Breeze, Sparkling Rose and Fresh Pear.  This adds depth and interest to the background.

Next, die cut the snowflake from WHITE GLIMMER PAPER, then stitch each one with the coordinating background thread.

DMC Floss used:  964 (blue), 605 (pink) and 368 (green).

Then, attach the snowflake to the card front using foam squares to add more highlight and depth.

Adding the Sentiment to the Spellbinders Stitched Snowflake Cards:

Start by using Polished Brass Glimmer Foil and black cardstock with Yana’s Christmas Sentiments set and foil the sentiments.

Next, cut them out with the coordinating dies.

Then, attach them to the bottom section of each snowflake.

Finally, add a Color Essentials Gems, Gold mix, second from largest gem to the center of the snowflake.  For just the perfect amount of bling.
