Hey crafty friends, welcome back. Today I’m sharing two cards created with the NEW Spellbinders Sweet Blooms Border Glimmer Plate. This new plate is fabulous and large. It covers the entire side of a A2 card, which to me, makes it super easy to create fast and fabulous cards for my friends and family.
These cards were super easy to create.
Start with a piece of watercolor paper 3-7/8 x 5-1/8. Lay the plate down beside it.
Mix up some watercolor paint and water. Wet down the area you want to watercolor and start adding the color.
I just eyeballed where I thought the flowers were and then the leaves and let everything blend together.
When its dry, run it through the Spellbinders Glimmer Foil Machine and overlay the gold foil. I find this works better than foiling first, because sometimes the watercolor sits on top of the foil, and dulls it out a bit.
The mat is 4 x 5-1/4 and then attached to a top folding A2 white card base created from HammerMill 100 LB bright White card. Side fold would also work
The sentiments on today’s cards are from another new Spellbinders product. Heart Melt Sentiments Glimmer Foil plates from the Delicate Impressions Collection by Becca Feeken. I love the fonts in this set and they also come with outline die cuts making it super simple to add a beautiful sentiment to the front of any card.
For the Spellbinders Sweet Blooms Border Pink card, I flipped it the other direction to add the color, otherwise same size and layout.
For the watercolors, I used Gansai Tambi, 34 Pink, 43 Green and 57 blue and a simple wet color wash
Finally, there is lots going on in these cards, so I just added three gold sequins to each.
