Spring Into Glimmer

Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back.  I’m excited to be sharing with you a new release this month from Spellbinders, the Spring Into Glimmer Series.  There are 3 cards today showcasing the different elements in this release.  I also think I have quite a few new gray hairs from trying to photograph all this glimmery gorgeousness, haha

I also ordered more colors of Spellbinders cardstock as I really liked the ones I had.  So, todays cards are all created with Waterfall, Terra Cotta, Teal Topaz and Persimmon.

I really like the combination of the yellow orange with the turquoise, hope you do too.  It’s quite a change of for me as far as colors go, haha, so it took a bit of getting used to.  I also used Polished Brass Glimmer Foil for all the cards and black for the leaf highlights.

Spring Into Glimmer Card #1

Use the A2 Swirl Background to cut the card front out of Waterfall cardstock and layer it to a piece of Teal Topaz for a darker contrast.

Foil the Glimmer Edge Flowers using the Polished Brass Foil over Persimmon and Terra Cotta cardstock

Foil the Sentiments for everyday onto white card.

Next, die cut everything out with the coordinating dies.  Layer and attach to the card using foam squares.

Finally, die cut a bunch of leaves and steps in black to add around the florals.

Spring Into Glimmer Slimline Card #2

Of course, I had to add a slimline card to the mix just because I love making them.  Spellbinders has some great slimline dies for this purpose too.  My apologies for the photo, with all that glimmer on there, it was totally crazy trying to get a photo, trust me, it’s beautiful in real life.

Use the Fluted Classic Slimline Die set to cut the layers for the card in Turquoise, Black and White.  I love the fluted edge; it makes such a nice frame around the art piece.

Emboss the white card front with the Loops Multi Size Embossing Folder.

Next, glimmer foil the Glimmer Edge Flowers and the Glimmer Edge Butterflies.

There is a new Be Bold Glimmer Sentiments that I really like, so I foiled those as well.

Finally, attach all the elements to the card and fill in with black leaves.

Spring Into Glimmer Sentiment Banner:

There is a new Sentiment Banner die set with this release.  It’s different from the one a few months ago in that the pieces are straight instead of arched.  I found that a bit easier to put together and it makes a fabulous sentiment statement on your cards.

All the elements are the same as the previous two cards.

Finally, to embellish them all I used a black copic marker to color the half pearls in black and used them for the flower centers and embellishments.

  1. Bonjour Sandi,
The orange-copper and gold color, for the flowers and the butterfly, are so good with, BIEN OUI, (Sandi Blue Turquoise ) background) it vibrates.

  2. Hi, Sandi –
You always show us such beauty! Thanks!! My favorite of the three is the slimline, but all of them are beautiful!
