Tropical Flowers and how to create a Batik Background

Welcome back stamping friends, today I’m sharing Hero Arts Tropical Flowers and how to create a Batik Background.

There is a NEW challenge starting today over at A Blog Named Hero – STRETCH YOUR STAMP – in other words, use your stamps in an unusual or different way.

I just received the Hero Arts Tropical Flowers and others from last month’s MMH (My Monthly Hero) Kit subscription and have not played with it yet, so I decided to make a Christmas card with some of the products.  I have friends who live in Hawaii, so this will be a perfect Holiday card for them – heck, I might even hand deliver it, haha.

As I was creating, I got out the Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors and ended up making this very cool Ink Batik Background, using the NEW (and very awesome) Leafy Bold Background Stamp –  so I did a quick video for you and shared it below.

Next, I used my Prisma Colored Pencils to color all the images for my wreath and then cut them out with the coordinating dies.

My Sentiment was white heat embossed onto small scraps of black card stock using two additional stamp sets.  Wonder and Magic of Christmas for the word “christmas” and Hello Stamp & Cut for the “hugs”.

I used circle dies to cut a “wreath” from a piece of Mirror Gold card stock and Nuvo Crystal Drops Mustard Gold for my dots.

Here is the Video showing you how I created the Ink Batik background.  You can watch it here, or over on my YOUTUBE channel in HD.

Thanks so much for visiting me today and I hope you enjoyed the project and will create a card and join in our challenge this month.

I’ve listed the products I used below.  Clicking on the image will take you directly to the product.  Where available I use compensated affiliate links which means if you make a purchase through my link, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.  Thank you so very much for your support, it helps to keep my blog and YouTube channel running and I truly appreciate it.

P.S.  if you do place an order through my affiliate links, please E-Mail Me with the date and amount along with your name and address as I would love to send you a thank you card.
