Hello my card making friends and welcome back. Today I’m sharing adorable card created with Distress Oxides and Polar Bear pals stamp set from My Favorite Things.
I started by borrowing the snowflake stamps from my other Favorite MFT stamp set, Warm and Feathered Hugs and white heat embossed them onto my card front.
Then I blended from the bottom up in Mustard seed, Broken China and Blueprint.
This is the Embossed Resist technique as the embossed images resist the ink, and end up popping through in pretty white on the colored background.
Next, I diluted a bit of Gouache (white paint), and flicked it onto my background with a brush to create a little snow storm.
To create the hill my little bear is skating down, I used another piece of white card stock 4-1/4″ wide and die cut the hill with the MFT Stitched Basic Edges Dies and attached it to the bottom of the card.
Finally, I stamped my bear in black ink, colored his scarf and skates with my Prismacolor pencils before cutting him out with the coordinating Polar Bear Pals Dies.
He’s mounted with a few small pieces of foam tape just to pop him up a bit.
The last embellishment is on his scarf. I used my Uniball Signo White Gel pen to add a few squiggly lines.
There he is. Clean and Simple, fast and fun, whatever, I think he also qualifies for my 10 Minutes to WOW program. Click the button above to download a FREE PDF for today’s card and don’t forget to check out my FREE PDF GALLERY for (almost 200) more great card ideas.
