Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back. Today I’m sharing Layered Stencils with Paper Glaze. I’m a big fan of stencils and just received the Paper Glaze from Picket Fence too, so I decided to have some fun and try them out. I LOVE THEM, and I share why in today’s video.
Recently, I received this lovely Rose Trio Stencil from the latest Simon Says Stamp release. I LOVE STENCILS. As a kid, one of my first allowance purchases was a pansy stencil. I stenciled everything that didn’t move. I had that stencil for years (I think my Mom hid it, haha).
Stencils are very artistic, easy to store, inexpensive and work with so many products and techniques, two of which I share today in the video. I have a lovely collection of Simon Says Stamp Stencils and happy to add this one (there is always room for one more right? haha).
NEXT, let’s discuss these LOVELY, creamy, jewel toned, Paper Glazes from Picket Fence Studios.
FABULOUS COLORS, great texture, easy to move around with your palette knife, and they dry shiny. Which I love, but it’s crazy town trying to take pictures of shiny things on cards haha….gives me gray hair! The bottles are HUGE so no running out mid project and a great price point too.
There are three steps to today’s Layered Stencils with Paper Glaze cards.
- – A quick watercolor background wash
- – Add color through the stencil with Distress Oxide Inks and Life Changing Brushes
- – Adding Paper Glaze for a “ghost” effect
I walk you through each step in today’s quick video.
For this final card: I used Brutus Monroe Glitter Glaze and then a thin layer of Dream Weaver White Embossing Paste instead of the Picket Fence Studios Paper Glazes. I wanted to share the striking difference between the two products, although I do like the translucent effect of this one too. Also, the Picket Fence Studios White Paper Glaze is sold out, Phewt!
